Join C7 in BigEast, & CUSA for football
& im not joking. I'm sure ill be scorned for this, bu you can still build a football program in CUSA while at the same time salvage your basketball program which is the life blood of your school & city. Cincy, UCONN & Temple won't be thinking like this. & that's why they'd be forgotten & we'll be in a top 5 basketball conference.

That would be fine except that the C7 don't want us. After Cincy and UConn are gone and this league falls apart within the next 5 years we will be wishing for a deal like this.

Who says the C7 doesn't want us? It's been reported by a blogger from Philly that Memphis was contacted a couple weeks ago and we told them no. But that was all before the TV deal was announced and so low and the news that the C7 are leaving this July instead of next July. So our approach might have changed since then. For all we know, Bowen may be on the phone with presidents from those schools vying for an opening. WE DO NOT KNOW!

Maybe Memphis doesn't want, or need the C7.

I don't think so BUT if they do we need to jump all over it and park football somewhere else.

We are not a church/basketball only school.

We play all sports like the big boys.

We're nothing like the "big boys". Except in basketball and that's starting to slip away now, thanks to the conference we're in now and about to be in next year.

How the hell is BB starting to slip?

We having out best year since Cal left and just signed one of the top 3 classes in the nation.

That made no sense at all.

Forget it, you can't explain why football is important to the school when they root for an SEC school and follow Memphis bball in the offseason.

No! No! No!

Hell, I'm a basketball first fan and I understand how important it is to keep football RELEVANT. We need football to be strong and one day we WILL be in a better place because of it.

The perception as a major program is slipping. We are getting dogged out by the media. It took an 18-game winning streak to even get some recognition, then we choked and back to criticism. This conference is killing us. And guess what? The new conference won't be much better.

Really Sherlock? You don't know crap about me or who I root for. I have NEVER rooted for anyone ahead of the Tigers in ANY sport. And that's a fact!

Its the same conference we rose to national prominence in the last several years. Perception changes because we have been one and done the last few years.

If keep recruiting (and CJP will) and make some deep runs, BB will stay right were it is.

If we can jump to the C7 or a power 6, obviously we should take it.
