You do realize that ULM is more eastern than UL?

Yes I do. Was told ULL to East but who knows. Was just about to ask what Cajun fans thought about going to the East side.

I can't figure a way to express myself diplomatically on that one because either way you slice it, we've got a long roadie.

Personally, I'm heading to the dark side.

If that were so, wouldn't that be pretty bad?

Football should be good. Even though I imagine some schools may not think so. Baseball may be even stronger than football nationally at first. If we could get the basketball programs firing on all cylinders would be a huge plus.
A friend of mine, JMU supporter, figured up conference attendance if JMU got added and WKU went to CUSA and the Sun Belt, based on 2012 football attendance would have better attendance than CUSA also. Without them would probably be about even overall.

Basing divisions on current strength is not a good idea. Too many programs will rise and fall over the seasons.

GaSo and App St can't be full FBS teams til 2015, so if those 2make the SBC schedule in 2014, everyone has two FCS games on their schedule. That makes bowl eligibility a big challenge. We need FBS schools NOW!

yes and if Ulaf was in a division like the group shown, they would immediately withdraw and go independent.

You can count one FCS game per year just like an FBS game, plus FBS transitional games are fully counted as FBS games unless that has changed.

this is incorrect. It will work the same as USA did and count as comference wins but won't be eligible for the championship or post season play.

RE: What I heard late last night
I think most WKU fans are excited for basketball if we were to be invitied to CUSA....We would get back old rivals with ODU, UAB, and Charlotte....While only a young kid myself those days, there were some big time match ups in the heyday of Sun Belt basketball....WKU fans still talk about the game against UAB where the Mars Bars went flying...I remember going to a packed Diddle to see us and UAB play when they had ogg and kenedy, those were some fierce battles...Not sure it would ever return to the status it once was, but I know a lot of 30 year olds and above would be happy to play those guys again in basketball...Plus our womens basketball team had a great rivalry going with La. Tech too which will please the hardcore WKU womens basketball fans...I dont really care about baseball....I do agree Football is a wash but it would be nice to have more tie ins and not worry about what at large bowl we were going to since New Orleans and Mobile are always reserved for more southern teams than us.. I also think most WKU fans would be looking forward to start a rivalry with Marshall in both sports, that has the potential to develop into a good rival for both fanbases.....And even remote possibility of CUSA basketball tournament in Nashville would be a great bonus for WKU too..For selfish reasons living in Lexington, I would look forward to making road trips to Marshall for football games in the future too....I used to be one of those Sun Belt sucks kind of guys just due to frustration with the basketball side in conf...But after reading this board the last year, I realized the Sun Belt has been a good home for us and has treated us fairly well I guess, haha... but I do think a change would be a good thing to bring some new energy into our fanbase...Most WKU fans are ready for something new I feel after being in same conf. 32 years...

FBS transitional teams have counted as FBS games in the past. Cannot imagine the NCAA and the BCS wouldn't count them since they already allow one FCS win per year to count like any FBS win. The conference would have to vote on whether the games would count as conference eligible games, which would imagine they would vote to do so.
