it would seem ohio or florida international would be most likely bought out.

Keep in mind that Louisville has not ONE, not TWO, but THREE BYEs this season... if they can't move one game, something is wrong here!

Louisville played Rutgers on championship weekend last season. Pitt played USF that week. Syracuse and Temple were the only Big East teams that did NOT play, in fact.

God that would suck. Why would they move that to Labor Day? Usually a prime time matchup on that day and such. Would it be during the day or something? Can't imagine that being a network night game on Labor Day.

It needs to be on a Saturday. Don't want to have to use a vacation day for a trip that is only 2.5 hours each way for me :)

I'd still be highly surprised by Labor Day. Pitt/FSU would not get better ratings than other primetime games on a Holiday night. That is not a marque matchup.

I would however not be surprised if the ACC threw FSU on the road for a Thursday night game against Pitt because that is how the ACC loves to schedule FSU.

Don't care about the Pitt game possibly being Labor Day. FSU will welcome them with a beatdown no matter when the game is played.

Week one doesn't provide a lot of marquee matchups. They aren't going to move the Georgia-Clemson game, LSU-TCU and VT-Alabama neutral site games seem to be anchored to Saturday along with Miss St.-OKSt. and Penn St.-Syracuse neutral site games.

Last year, Va Tech was ranked 16th, Georgia Tech wasn't ranked in the AP. Neither Miami or Maryland were ranked in the AP in '11 when they played on Labor Day. So let's dispel with the notion that it must be this clash of the titans. It was a few times, but not every year.

Of the games scheduled for that weekend right now, assuming FSU-Pitt isn't moved (and it would air on ESPN not a network like ABC), about 40% of the games that weekend involve FCS vs. FBS, so the options start out limited for ESPN to begin with.

FSU @ Pitt on Labor Day Monday night would be a very good match-up. It would have a 100% national audience, guaranteed to get good ratings. I know I'd watch it.

Agreed. While it may not be a ratings blockbuster, it'll certainly be decent. Plus, with all the transition at FSU (some new skill players, new coaches), it'll be interesting to see how they line up against what could be an improving Pitt squad.

Labor Day in the past has had plenty of marque matchups at night. This one doesn't fit that mold

Maybe the Noles should play FAU on labor day night?

Both would get bad ratings ...

But hey whatever makes you feel better about yourself buddy. My school was in the 4th year of having a football program when I started there so I didn't go for sports. Good for you on Pitt being better. (assuming you went to Pitt)

Pitt could even win that game for all we know. That still isn't a matchup for a holiday night game. If you can't be impartial to see that then so be it.

We all have a right to our opinions, and I certainly understand and respect yours, but I don't see any harm in this one on Labor Day.

I think it's right on par with Maryland-Miami from 2011. A "brand name" on the road against a "wild card" team, in a battle of the 2 first-year-at-the-school Head Coaches for that season (that last part obviously not in play for 2013).

This would be a battle of the ACC's Reigning Champ on the road against the "new kid" in the conference, one that can also be a real "wild card" (knocked off Rutgers, nearly beat Notre Dame last year).
