Soft as in the fan base whining about home games. IF given the chance to chance a given they fold like my right knee.
The given is you earn respect by playing and beating those who are respected.
The staff and or admin did a fine job scheduling.
The fan base are mostly skirts.
If given the chance to risk improvement they chose self serving home games against Onamonapeea U.
We can't harm the freshman.
We are on a winning streak.
If we play a big boy we jeopardize "our run" in Cleveland.
Margie, where are my balls?

Robert Klien was the first ever comedian on HBO.
Margie, where are my balls is on side 2.
If you are in or have been in the Marching Band your bit is in one of the first couple cuts.
Starting your car in the cold is a classic. Appropriate these days.
To be clear.
The non conference schedule is a conundrum.
1. If you schedule like WMU has in recent years, the fans complain about not having enough home games in November and December. It also deflates your win total depending on the competition.
2. Schedule a bunch of home games...like Ohio, Akron, or most other mid major programs who are doing well, and the team doesn't learn how to win on the road...which is necessary if we expect to win c-ships.
Going forward, I see the value in scheduling road and home games. I'd like to see more balance in the schedule. With Bracketbusters going away next year, and the MAC returning to an 18 league game schedule, we will have 12 non conference games. Assuming we play in a tournament every year that includes 3 games at a neutral site, or at a host school, that leaves 9 games to schedule.
I'd like to see a minimum of 4, but no more than 5, home games scheduled.
That would give us.
3 Neutral site games (possibly at a host school)
4 home games
5 road games
*flip the home and road numbers every other year.
This gives us the ability to play 2-3 money games on the road, and test ourselves against 2-3 times on the road against quality mid majors.
Sound good? Nobody goes soft. Admin gets their money. Fans get an extra home game or two every year.
Bam, sign me up...I'll make the schedule going forward.
