My first thought was that the Twitter account go hacked, but it seems real; they've got it on the Ohio University web page http://www.ohio.edu/emergency/index.cfm which is linked from a banner on top of the home page http://www.ohio.edu/ Seems real.

yeah and now i'm seeing it on the Ohio Athletics Facebook page, too. talk about a knee-jerk reaction. GRRRR!!!!

Last I heard the suspect was seen at the engineering building. Personally, I prefer erring on the side of caution. Especially with the our litigious society, I don't think the university had a choice from a liability stand point.

Rescheduling the game will pose a problem, no matter when it is. There are no breaks in the MAC schedule. Games every Wednesday and Saturday up until the end. No matter when they choose, it will cause problems. I don't get why they don't just play it tomorrow.

ADs at Univ. of Cincinnati, Toledo, Akron and OSU are shaking their heads. Really unfair to EMU. However, bars are offering "fugitivefest" deals. $5 liquor pitchers.

Sorry, but if this is the new standard Georgetown, St. John's, DePaul and a hundred other schools would never be able to play a game. This isn't a case of a guy wearing body armor heading to shoot up the town. He's hiding in his trailer in the Plains or Chauncey by now. It happened ten hours before the game.

Hey..we're new at this armed robbery thing...kinda like the gridlock that ensues if Georgia gets 1" of snow...I'm sure other campuses get this all the time.

both Ohio and EMU have a conf game on Sat 2/16 and then a gap until Wed 2/27. That gives them Wed 2/20 and Sat 2/23 to schedule this game and a Bracket Buster game, should be ale to resolve without any major disruption.

I wonder how much it cost EMU to rent a charter bus, drive down to Athens yesterday, get 15-20 hotel rooms, have (probably) 3-4 meals, all for nothing. Then they'll (probably) have to do that again in a few weeks. Hopefully the MAC/OU helps offset the costs for EMU. Hopefully not too many EMU had started to make the drive down before the cancellation was announced.
