RE: NIU thin at RB position
7 said a while back that Settle was booted. Maybe it's just a suspension for a couple games? He must've done something really dumb.

Daniels has proven that he's the top back on the team. Would be nice to see what Bowers can do too, but that can wait till next year.

Yeah...that is terrible news. I know Daniels has the most talent, but having one of those 2 in there to take some snaps would be a big help.

Time for Bowers to step-up.

I would love to see local boy Markie Hayes eventually get a shot a RB. He was an outstanding HS back.

IMO , this is not good news.......Akeem D better be ready to produce, and I expect to see some action from Bowers, even though he's barely touched the ball this year

Still don't know why we haven't moved Ford back to RB.

It's not bad news. In the MACC, Bowers was the only other RB outside of Daniels that received a carry. And he received ONE total carry.

Last two games, Daniels is right around 150 yards with 5 TDs. He's produced enough and proven that he's the best back on the team. Carey is not going to go away from Daniels.

It might be a problem if Daniels was our only back. I mean, really he is sharing a workload with Lynch.

Not expecting them to go away from Daniels, but they need to have some options in the backfield......FSU defensive speed concerns me - I sure don't expect to see Lynch running wild. Certainly Daniels stepped up in the last 2 games....but this is a bigger stage

RE: NIU thin at RB position
Daniels is the best of the group, and has been all season. Settle certainly wasn't anything special, and Harris was overmatched at this point, although he might grow into the position as he gets stronger.

If Daniels got hurt we'd be in trouble with or without those guys. I'm just as comfortable with Bowers on the field as I was with Settle or Harris.

Absolutely agree.

However.....for next year, I still think the right 2013 stud RB Recruit could be the guy and start as a Freshman. The opportunity is there.

2014 for sure.

RE: NIU thin at RB position
I almost think that they sort of rested Daniels all year. Going in they were selling hard that he was the number 1 guy then the season started and he got like zero carries but was always out there. He's defintely the most versatile back we have and I think they hid a lot of his skill set then said at EMU here you go kid we have a huge game next week in Detroit show everyone why we love you and he was by far the best RB on EMU, Kent and NIU's roster, those other 2 teams had solid runningbacks as well.
