The larger pool of applications will increase the talent level of next years incoming class. Hopefully the graduation rate of the class of 2017 will be better than last year graduation rate of 55%. Another reason why a winning football program is good for NIU.

Its cool tho, the NS says that sports are worthless and spending money on any facilities that don't directly effect every student is a waste...

Maybe they'll become football fans and stay past halftime.

And we'll still have 19,000 at the home opener next year.

Maybe we should encourage High schoolers and potential NIU students to attend NIU games and give points to those who attended games.
FB fans often are loyal Alumni supporters of the University.

Also, good athletics helps with raising funds/donations. If I wasn't a big football fan, I don't think I would donate. Or at least, probably wouldn't donate as much. Just being honest.

Maybe we should schedule Busses for potential NIU applicants to goto Miami and give points for attending.

They had an article in Crains Chicago about some of the donors and how they are changing their plans to make it down to Miami. Learned that Dan McGrath of the McGrath auto group is an alum.
