AND Nebraska is @ Northwestern the very next week.

Though this likely will change now with Rutgers and Maryland.

RE: NIU and Nebraska Sign 2-for-Soldier Field
We have an improving record at Soldier field, but are still winless there.
Thanks to Nebraska for playing us.
NU and Illness despite being supported by Illinois tax payers you refuse to play the top FB program in Illinois.
Illinois let us have our accounting and computer Science pHd program.
Play us on the field and stop hurting us off the field.
Let us become a 30 000 student University and establish a rivalry for the top public school FB program in the land of LIncoln.
That way High school kids from Illinois will chose you over Notre Dame. NIU/U.I. yearly rivalry will be like U.IOwa vs IOwa State, Stanford vs USC
it will make Illinois into a relevant FB state again. Ever since the University of Chicago stopped playing FB, Illinois FB has lacked any intra state rivalries.
Intra State rivalries get State fans excited. Florida, Texas, California, Iowa why not Illinois. Illinois legislature should mandate that U.I plays against NIU 5 years in a 10 year period minimum or every year. That way Illinois FB might become relevant again.
P.S. They also save on travel expenses for fans and the Universities.

Northwestern is private, not state funded. And I'd prefer the state legislature figure out how to get Illinois out of debt rather than wasting time legislating which college football teams should play each other. Yet another thing government should stay out of.

Will Nebraska figure out how to defend mobile QBs in an attacking, multiple-formation and shifting offense by 2016?

Firstly NU is a title 2 institution- meaning they accept state funds.

Secondly schools that watch their budget save the State money.

Thirdly playing in state schools will save both schools and fans on travel expenses.

Fourthly You believe that College Presidents of Big 10, PAC and other AQ conferences should be allowed to deny a 16 team playoff which would raise 5 times the amount of money? (but take away their control over the BCS system) Did you vote for any of these University Presidents?

Fifthly we vote for the President of the USA and State representatives and as tax payers should have a say how Universities spend their money
and yes who they play. If Iowa Legislature passed a law forcing Iowa U. to play Iowa State why cannot Illinois do they same? It is what the voters would like?

This is a good way to get the media to mention NIU as this is the first day of the dead period in recruiting.

Ever kid in this class would be a RS JR or SR for this game.

You took a lot of liberties with my comment. My only point was that government has bigger things to worry about than college football programs and who they play. Sure, this could help in the long run, but it's not going to solve the major issues we have.

Not trying to turn this into a political debate.
