A highschool in texas, without a real pressbox and endzone seating. If, we are doing the berm thing get it done asap. I think it should be open for every game.

Why are so many on here so high on end zone seating? Those are the worst seats in the house. And sitting on the grass? Sounds more like seating for a concert.

Seats in the endzone will make the stadium look better. We are a bcs bowl program with a big fcs stadium. The yordan center is world class. The chessick center will be world class. Huskie stadium needs some improvements. I would rather have seats than a berm but, a berm will do. Facilities and recruiting are the name of the game.

I am not talking about a bowled berm...just keep it straight like the one now but extend the sides and backwards. Put a retaining wall up...which could be part of the scoreboard and renovate that garage thing where they hand out the student tickets as bathrooms...OR allow the berm people to get to the food and bathrooms under the East stands like at Ball St.

Jim, it's nice to have you on our board. How does it feel to be at Northwestern and not play in a BCS Bowl? 03-lmfao

Sounds like what we need is a world class berm!

On a nice day I would love a Ball St like berm for my family.

My kids just want to run around during the second half. They cant sit still for a whole game.

RE: New scoreboard for Huskie Stadium
With the new berm would we be able to say our capacity is 30,000? Would help the perception a bit to get it out of the 20's.

No...our current official capacity is just over 24k. We wouldn't be able to put more than 2k in that area even with a bigger berm.

Even if we were to add a skybox with 2000 total seats we would still be under that 30k mark.

To get to 30k with this configuration we need a second deck on the East stands. (Assuming that we will not get bleachers in the endzone where the scoreboard is going) This would get us to 33k...but again we only had 18k for Kansas and 21k for HC last year. Lets just fill what we have.

First things first...lets see if we can sell out the home opener and homecoming next year.

I don't even think it's as much about being high on endzone seating as it is trying to dress up Huskie Stadium. An upper deck on the east side is somethng so far in the future (if ever) that it's not even worth discussing right now. When we start selling out every game (or close to it), that's a conversation to be had.

Yup. Just close off that end so we don't see the apartments and busses in the 4th quarter waiting to pick up the visiting players.

You should write to AD Compher and make sure he does that.

I'm not joking. You seem to have a wonderful relationship with him and you don't appear to be pestering him. You should maybe bring this up with him in your future conversations. This would give him a little understanding as to what some of the fans are looking for.

I have done nothing more than email some suggestions/requests to him. That occasionally goes back and forth with some further comments but we have never actually met.

With this berm idea there are some logistics that have to also be considered...are we talking about putting dirt where the ambulance parks?...if so then where would the ambulance be relocated...what about the ROTC cannon? What about the student ticket pickup garage?

Really I think that just going straight back with the berm is the best thing we can do for now.
