New scoreboard for Huskie Stadium

We have plenty of dirt to the West of the Convo where the super secret campus expansion is going on now.

Putting a bigger berm in after this thing is in shouldn't be anything more than two days of back-filling and smoothing out.

What is going on out there?

Building lots of info structure for the 2020 plan. Just need money to build the buildings.

They need to start that press box campaign the min that the CPC is fully funded!...and after the details are finalized on the new jumbo-tron...and lights for the soccer/track field.

Bud Nangle left some $150,000 as seed money for the press box renovation

I assume that it is still available and hasn't been used elsewhere

I think that GW (guy that passed during the NU game) left

Whoops I am an idiot and misunderstood the post I was trying to reply to. Just ignore this post which I just edited because I could not figure out how to delete it.

It is beyond my comprehension how and why the berm hasn't been "fixed" to be a real berm. It makes Huskie Stadium look like a high school stadium at certain TV angles with the apartments in the back. Someone with half a brain in athletics pile some dirt over there when the new scoreboard goes in.

Agree on the berm, needs to be super-sized ASAP.

*On the bright side, I'm sure we can all admit that you would have laughed at the end of the Iowa loss if someone tried to assure you the words "Orange Bowl" and "Jumbotron" would be in our vocabulary by December. Crazy.

+1
+1000. And then the next fundraiser initiative could be for adding the 10-20 rows of stands to complete the look.
Yeah, the Wake one seems really nice. One thing I am not sure about is was the scoreboard $2 million or did they just raise $2 million to go towards the scoreboard and put other athletics money towards it(including ad revenue) making the board much more than the $2 million?

As for the stands, that can come later. What is next should be what they have in the top right of the picture.

It looks like those aren't stands, but a berm. This looks good. If we can get the old shed down in the Southeast corner at the same time, bonus points.

Put your families out on the berm, revamp the shed as some type of restroom/concession for them and we are in good shape. Throw a hot tub for the cheerleaders/coeds/sorority girls out there too. Heck I am sure the Dog Pound Message Board could sponsor that in a heartbeat.
Yeah, you are right. It is a berm. I think I was getting that board with another one in previous posts. The mind goes on you as you get old. 03-banghead

i understand that they want to make the berm bigger to block the view of the street and bowl out that end. we are a little tight at that end.

I am not talking about a bowled berm...just keep it straight like the one now but extend the sides and backwards. Put a retaining wall up...which could be part of the scoreboard and renovate that garage thing where they hand out the student tickets as bathrooms...OR allow the berm people to get to the food and bathrooms under the East stands like at Ball St.

I am sure they don't...but they will hire contractors/consultants who know how to do this.

Let's get the Wake Forest scoreboard and leave the construction to construction workers.

Really? That's great to hear.

There's no doubt space is tight, but there's room to do it. Really it's harder to go back than it is to bowl it. There's plenty of room on the sides to bowl it. You probably need to start the hill a few feet in front of where it is now and make the hill a bit steeper. It's possible for sure. It's a great way of closing the stadium without having to deal with more empty seats. I'd only open the berm if the game is close to selling out.

Hopefully they do it. Between that, the scoreboard, and IPF/Yordon, Huskie Stadium would look great. All you'd really needed is the press box after that.

Ball State's berm isn't much bigger than ours could be (front to back).

Ball State looks like a High School stadium in Texas.
