Screw ECU. I'd love for Houston and Memphis to come back, but I don't see that with so many texas schools and with MTSU in the mix. But hey it works for Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

The other problem is, the more schools you have, the smaller the cut of the winnings.

Just saying.

No, we don't versus TU; in fact, they've owned us, but I also stated in my post that we've had our butts kicked by CUSA schools, too. (Has Charlotte ever been owned by a school you just have a difficult beating)?

When is the last time Charlotte teed it up against any FBS level school since yall have become a CUSA legend in your own minds before you've even teed it up at this level and in this conference?

Whoever started this thread needs to have their ball sac stretched from NC to Texas.
What he meant was nobody read what you posted. Read his post again.

If UNCC had had football when C-USA was formed it would have been in C-USA to this day, unless they had jumped to the Big East which probably would have happened.

I don't hold the conference jumping against any of the schools because you do what is best for the program, but likewise once you leave the conference has to turn to it's best interest. In this hostile environment to independants (a couple exceptions like Notre Dame and BYU) the lack of a conference can set a program back and one that is in a conference that program competes with for fans, recruits, etc., can find itself losing ground. I will give this example: South Florida, Central Fla. suddenly finding FIU and FAU catching up or passing them due to failure of the Big East (assuming no new conference isn't formed, which I would think would happen). However I think things will some how level out and in the sunlight of the future little gain will happen for most.

North Texas has more living on its campus (percentage wise) than UT-Austin, so you who constantly use the "commuter school card" just go ahead and call one of our state's 2 flagship universities a commuter school if you wish since some of you are so expertise about what constitutes a commuter school.

North Texas has all its numerous on campus dorms filled, has more dorms in its master plan to build and has more of its students that live on or within blocks of our campus than the combined enrollments of SMU and TCU. }:>) So call us "commuter school" all you want because you only continue to show your abject ignorance by doing so.

Remember that one time that Royal complimented your team.

That was so awesome.

You mean that time when North Texas was the only school (outside the SWC used to be's) and present non Big Boy Conference schools (like most in CUSA now) who could get on UT's schedule (and have several times since)?

The late Darrell K. Royal did praise North Texas when we took about 20,000 traveling Mean Green fans to the stadium now named in his honor and when Earl Campbell had to make a late 4'th quarter TD run to beat North Texas 17 to 14. (The Austin American Statesman beat writer was quite impressed with our large number of traveling fans which was mentioned in their next day Sunday edition).

No, your probably right, the University of North Texas just does not belong with all these upstart schools since we probaby cannot compete against their yet to be realized big dreams. Ever try to beat a dream?

In fact, last time we beat Tulsa was on an ABC-TV regionally televised game which I watched on ABC TV-affiliate KTRK, Channel 13, Houston, Texas. And the last time Charlotte was on a NCAA FBS level game televised by ABC TV was..................?

Ok. Perhaps I should rephrase my statement.

The number of Charlotte 49er football victories since 1947 is equal to the number of people on this message board who actually took the time to read your previous post.

That better?

apparently a lot of the history of C-USA and the Metro Conference. Charlotte is the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I suggest you google Metro Conference and catch up on the history of C-USA. It will help you understand how C-USA started and how we got to where things are today.

It was a joke. Charlotte and UNCW are very particular about what their schools are called and despise when abbreviated with a hyphen. Just trying to lighten the mood on this very ugly thread.

Not sure, but I do know that Memphis, USM, Cincinnati, Tulane, Charlotte, and South Florida are the remaining Metro schools in C-USA and/or the Big East.

So, we'll keep you in mind... provided that you change that ridiculous "Golden Hurricane" name of yours.

Those 8 newBE (Temple, Cincy, UConn, Memphis, ECU, Tulane, UCF, and USF ) that will be left will likely pluck some of the bigger named schools left in CUSA - USM, Marshall, Tulsa, UTEP or Rice or LaTech.

What's left of CUSA will simply finish destroying the SBC as an effective FBS conference (welcome ASU, WKU, ULL, +1).

Boom, we're all in Sunbelt version 2.0.

On the bright side for MT, we trade some of the Sunbelt riff raff for ODU, Charlotte and whomever else is left. I'm good with that.

Nope, keep the 14 now scheduled to be together and add USF, Temple, Cincy and UConn for 18. Done.
