ECU other sports
So ECU I haven't seen or heard anything regarding your other sports. Where are they headed, Colonial or So Con? Most likely places since you have history, and doubt A-10 wants the historically weak basketball. Only 3 postseason appearances since 1965 and no victories.

At this time and as far as I know

A10 and BE All Sports are still on the table.

Rumor has it there are several different options available to ECU as we speak...

Your new Big East brothers sound thrilled to have your other sports. I'm sure that will work out peachy.

You guys are a trip....We went into this deal as football only so we knew what we were getting into, not so sure why fans of other schools seem so worried about this. There is more talk about this from fans of other schools than ECU. Maybe that is because ECU fans have experience with this type of situation so it is not really a big deal to us. Anyway, wherever we land it will be just as good as being in CUSA for all sports except maybe for Baseball.

RE: ECU other sports
We accepted the deal. We knew what we were getting. I bet there were discussions with other conferences about this very thing prior to the BE invite coming.
Not sure why everyone else keeps bringing it up. We've had our football and Olympic sports in separate conferences before. The sport it will hurt the most is baseball.

Yeah I guess it's not that big a deal to ECU fans because we've spent years having FB and other sports not together. FB was indy for almost 20 years and then FB only in C-USA for another 5 years. I can understand why others might view this as a bigger problem than we do, but I'm not losing sleep over it.

Yager is scrabling like crazy to fill the void of ODU and VCU. CoC looks to be leaving the SoCon but they are a step down from both VCU and ODU.
I don't know why we are worried about it really. The only other sport ECU is even halfway interested in besides football is Baseball.
The only way the A10 takes ECU is if they are decimated when the BE basketball schools break off and take in X, Butler, VCU, Dayton and St. Bonnie.
That would leave the A10 with Duquesne, Richmond, GW, LaSalle, Fordham, St Joe, St Louis and Rhode Island. I assme there would still be 4-6 schools a head of ECU to get in the A10. They would look at Creighton, Wichita State, George Mason, Drexel and a few others first. The A10 will peserve their basketball first as a conference and they don't do that with the inclusion of ECU.

I really wouldn't be surprised if TH hasn't approached the SEC, ACC or B12 for a baseball affiliation

Probably much easier to talk the Big East into having us for a baseball affiliation, but either way I don't really see the CAA being cool with us coming in without baseball, our premier non-FB sport.

RE: ECU other sports
ECU spent over 20 years with football and olympic sports not bring housed in the same conference.

Is that even possible? Can you have baseball in another conference when your current conference (assuming CAA, etc) offers it?

I haven't seen anything linking ECU to the A10, anyone have a link to that? I highly doubt this happens. CAA, Socon or Big South makes sense.

I doubt the A10 is an option since they're trying to woo the catholic schools...

A-10 would be disastrous for our baseball program. Don't think the A-10 is a real option.

This is the exact reason taking a football only was a bad deal for us.

No, ESPN is trying to get them to woo the C-7. Come on, they did it to us in 2005, call C-USA......C-DOA to keep the contract down and drive away other bids. As much as ESPN is bashing nBE, they still want to inventory, but they want it as cheap as possible and don't want to bid against NBC and others or share the contract. If they can influeance a split, they can devalue the FB schools and seprate out the BB schools and offer them the best non-FBS deal out there, but that still would be much, 2 million tops, if that.
