Really? Because no one is laughing at us now??

I am sitting in (45 yard line)Sec 415(right next to the last NIU section), row 10, seats 7,8,9,10..for $165 with shipping..Which is the equivalent of 1 ticket in the same section if i buy it through NIU.

The difference in the price between the tickets at NIU and the tickets I bought is ironically the same price I planned on increasing my donation to the HASF next year.

The MAC already said they would take from other schools to cover our ticket and expenses, so technically by buying through stubhub and donating more to the university in march/april when i renew my season tickets and increase my HASF donation again, NIU will reap more benefits than if I had bought my tickets through them and donated the same amount..

The fact that some of you are questioning people who have season tickets, donate to the HASF, go to away games, have been at the last 3 MACC games is ridiculous..

You are the people we are discussing when we wonder why you only show up for one game a year...clowns04-chairshot

RE: Buy Orange Bowl tickets from NIU
It's an expensive trip for everyone. Luckily, living in Florida, I don't need to buy airfare and I'm cheap, so I'm finding the nicest crappiest hotel where I won't be raped or killed in to stay. So because of the money I'm saving from that, I will gladly be buying tickets through NIU.
Who gives a crap where you get your tickets from. Come to Miami, wear your Huskies gear and support NIU anyway you can.

Good post and you are right, CS. I got heat for not going to the game against Iowa at SF. Yet, I increased my donation to the HASF by more than the $500 I would have spent on that game. HASF wins.

What the hell is wrong with that?? That is the sole reason why I go to motels!

Help?

You fans are the reason that after 55 years of Division 1 football we have a season ticket base of 3,500. Support NIU!

And you, Sir, have no standing to call out Huskiefan38, of all people. 38 has been supporting Huskie football for years and will continue to do so. If there's anyone who would make the effort to support the university, it's him. As a young alum, he's doing what he needs to do to be a part of what's going on.

I'll be buying through NIU for the exact reasons you suggest, but if this game had come around in 2003, I would not have had the resources to simply "support NIU".

Haha thanks for the support guys.

Ended up buying then through NIU, not because of the comments in this thread though. I ended up concluding that the chance of being with fellow NIU fans is higher of bought through NIU. That, combined with the support I can provide to my Alma mater, and the guarantee that me and my friends have tickets, on time, and together, was all worth the 50 dollar premium.

Trolls will be trolls

Go Huskies!

+1 My thought as well! Does anyone have the link for the seating chart showing NIU sections?

More ticket woes. I want to order my tickets via phone through NIU so that I don't get stuck somewhere I don't want to be by Ticketmaster. Information from NIU all over the place said that I could call (815) 752-6800 to order tickets by phone. So, what happened? I called and was told by the young lady that I need to do it online through Ticketmaster. When, oh when, will we EVER get this ticket ordering correct?

I know that this is a once in a lifetime thing but for just my wife and I to fly down for the one day (due to needing to find babysitters) would cost us about two grand and that is only getting the $120 seats and a $150 hotel room by the airport.

I really don't know if I can afford this.

This is one of the big drawbacks of getting into a big time bowl.

I'm not going to tell you what this is costing me. But, then again, I am closer to death than you are, so I might as well enjoy what I have left. No mortgage or kids in school. Of course, I do need to pay for sex and sex toys, and that takes a BIG bite out of my budget. So, maybe the playing field is more even than I thought. 03-weeping

Try to swing it some way, HJ. Maybe ask for cash from the relatives for Christmas. I hope you can be there.

Priorities, John. Plan on more than 2 grand. The only question...Is it really only a once in a lifetime thing? Remember, we thought The Silicon Valley Bowl was a once in a lifetime thing also. As long as no one gets hurt, next year?......

You must have some pretty expensive sex toys. You mind describing?

Drive..way cheaper..bring the kids, buy the cheap tickets from stubhub..

There are ways to make it work...Though i wouldn't bankrupt myself trying to do it...

There is always next year..

I have some of the world's best toys, including a "stimulator" that runs on 220v. As would be expected, most of my toys are AC/DC.

I'm in a similiar boat as HJ. I have a 2 year old I can't exactly leave at home, and of course my wife would go if we did this. If we go we want to do it right too, it's perhaps a once in a lifetime. If you go with their deluxe package it's basically 5k after you get tickets, meals, etc.

I don't think anyoone should do this, but if you stay home, that $5K would buy you 5 skybox tickets at Huskie Stadium! Or, you could just buy 4 skybox tix and use the remaining $1K to buy yourself a cheerleader! 02-13-banana

I'm now starting to re-think my priorities! 03-weeping

Bottom line to me is to support the Huskies the fullest way you can right now. I doubt we've got many deep pockets on here, we all have our budgets and lives. my wife and I weren't sure we could pull it off financially or with her hospital work schedule until yesterday. Not sure how we'd do it if we had a kid.

Do what you can to make this a great as you can for you as fan. There's no wrong way. we're all in the same team.

Exactly the same situation with me. My wife also works in a hospital, and I had to wait until she found out she could take the days off. That was a bit of an ordeal. I thought hospitals are suppposed to have coverage? If my wife is so important to the hospital, she is being vastly underpaid!

I so want to go, have a 9 year-old, have to get special permission to take Jan. 2 off, have already taken 2 sports trips this year..............but it's a good time to get r/t tix from Baltimore-Orlando, and I could rent a car for 46 bucks for 2 days. Sigh, it would be a stretch to pull off, I so want to be there for this.

Those who say "just take vacation days" don't understand the issues that some of us face. It is not always that simple if you put any value on your job.

No, that is cruel. My wife may have to work the weekend after New Years - and she does not work weekends. Glad I don't work for a hospital. Just dealing with the fathead doctors would make me go ballistic.
