Pretty simple...WHy the hard feelings?
If that's the case, I really don't see how MT fans (or MT admin) has a beef.
I know that's what arkstfan reported, but no one else has, none of the MT guys have. I remain skeptical that anyone at our level would turn down a bowl - we simply don't have the leverage to do that.
I think that's kind of key. Did we turn down the bowl? If so, was that prompted by something Benson directed MT to do?

See this is the attitude that I don't get. I rooted big time for you guys to beat Florida...hell, everyone did.
You (and northeast) seem to base everything off of everyone else's loss and that is just so small and petty imo.
Good luck vs. ECU, you're not playing Tech so I can still root for you to win. Again, I just can't identify with you attitude.
EDIT: For the record when it comes to us and you, yes. I do root for Tech to be better. What kind of fan doesn't? Does it mean I root for your loss?
No.
Don't you guys have basketball season to start worrying about?
To tell you the truth I am PUMPED for the basketball season, we are 7-1. How do the Cajuns look this year?
We will be up and down with a young squad. Might be pretty good at the end of the season. Sorry to hear about what Reneau and Davison did to your football team... Damn shame for the seniors... 30 of them, right??

That is one of my biggest questions. Why did Benson call for a phone conference to "vote" when he already knew of the Pizza bowl's intentions to choose WKU?
You may see it that he was trying to screw WKU (I don't see how you believe that seeing that if the vote did come to fruition, MT wouldn't have been the one voted), but I see it as a way to chastise MTSU.

Aviation. Lucky ****** gets to fly with his aviation buddies to away games in the department's planes when he's not dressing out.
I think they just pay for fuel but when you look at the cost....
By the way, you'll enjoy this. Looks like there's going to be some salt in the wound here.

Go ahead and gloat that's fine, but at some point you gotta give us a break. We're not gonna bowl, losing our coach, and probably firing the AD while transitioning presidents. Tough times for us Techies.

Guys, its really hard for a lot of us to have a lot of sympathy for LT. I know it isn't the whole community at LT, but still the way the institution of LT appears to treat ULM and to a lesser degree, ULL has been pretty bad.

Chris Massaro is one of the good guys in the biz but let's be realistic. If he had taken the Military and MTSU had won Saturday and NIU hadn't made the BCS he would have been blasted for screwing up the biggest bowl deal MTSU ever had.
As for our other friends hard to not enjoy the fate of the second most famous school in Lincoln Parish.

I know you believe this whole heartedly, but its not true. Most of the players in GA do not play in an option system and it takes a certain type of player to do that. And well as long as GA Southerns former coach Paul Johnson is at Tech he will always get the top option players of the state.
And if you think GA State is going to compete for even the middle of the pack players in the state, you are crazy. They will get those players that want to stay at home or not being recruited by other programs. They might in 10 or so years, but not now.
And for those who think you need to have a school there to play for recruiting, simply not true. Come next season Marshall will have 10 GA players on the roster, 2 being 4 Star players.
If MTSU was offered a bowl and declined the offer then I do not feel sorry for them.

I know many of you are angry and bitter that we are leaving, but MT sitting at home does not move the Sun Belt forward. If we were in a bowl game the Sun Belt would have a record 5 teams bowling, which brings more prestige and money to the conference. The fact that Karl Benson could not manage to get all the SBC bowl eligible teams a bowl game, unlike the MAC commissioner, should show you that he is not fit for the position.
Yes, MT is the loser in this situation but it's only temporary. We will move on and be gone soon and have access to many bowls in CUSA. However, the big loser in this situation is the Sun Belt. You guys will continue to have Benson as your "leader" along with less money and prestige.
1) MTSU deserved a bowl bid
2) WKU deserved a bowl bid
3) Anybody that believes Benson completely does not deserve a bowl bid
4) Benson punted to the Presidents who wisely chose not to stick their finger in that socket
5) Detroit chose the team that has been courting them....and the one that got left out last year
Do I think Benson mishandled the SBC bowl selections? Yes. Do I think it was with evil intent or cluelessness? Cluelessness. Do I think it was a conspiracy to punish MTSU for leaving? No.
I fully understand MTSU and fans being sour on Benson....but I don't think this needs to spoil years of good relations between MTSU and remaining Sun Belt members and the fan bases.
This!
