Among all the texts emails and phone calls today, one thing caught me off guard. C-USA will need those bullets. Big move coming soon.

Sorry for the trolling, folks. Right now, it’s a rumor. Wouldn’t want to report it here.

Guess: UTEP, Tulsa, possibly Rice, possibly USM, Possibly La Tech to the MWC.

West: Hawaii - San Jose St - Utah St - Nevada - UNLV - Colorado St - Wyoming
East: Air Force - New Mexico - UTEP - Rice - Tulsa - La Tech - USM

*Fresno St to Big-USA.

You can feel it coming: UTEP is probably on their way to MWC. And taking a couple schools with them.

just my gut feeling

I could definitely see the MWC going after Tulsa, USM, La Tech and UTEP. I could also see the BE going after UNLV, Fresno State and one other...

I just want this to work out for everyone.. especially, Tulsa, USM, Marshall and UTEP.

I'm guessing Tulsa and UTEP to the MWC.

That's basically the 2001 WAC. Been there, done that. It imploded.

My guess is UTEP and Tulsa are leaving, so is Marshall. We dropped the ball, we should've brought GaSt, TxSt, and Louisiana or A-State.
Bringing in NMSU was the last straw for Tulsa and UTEP.

I don't see LT going to the MWC. I think they are done with going so far west for conference games.

Yeah, but that was WAY before mega-conferences were cool. 05-stirthepot

Only if it was worth it financially. Looks like a lateral move to me. Rather be in the South.

No stirring the pot necessary. You nailed it on the head. That same WAC16 could challenge for the number five/six spot in conference rankings.

I don't see why all of those teams would go to the Mountain West. I think UTEP and Tulsa make some sense but that is about it. Marshall to the MAC would be a slight surprise but could happen to get them to 14.

Still some flagship state universities here (especially Hawaii, Nevada, Wyoming, New Mexico) and some academic powerhouses (especially Air Force, Rice and Tulsa). That may have appeal compared to C-USA.

Don't think of packages, think of individual schools changing the realignment temperature in steps.

1. UTEP goes to MWC because it is better for them.
2. Tulsa goes because MWC+UTEP is better than C*USA-UTEP+Replacement
3. Any other school follows because MWC+UTEP+Tulsa is better for them than what is left of C*USA.

It's a domino effect.

I could even see Air Force moving west & UNT & UTSA in the east. That would keep the mountain teams together. That would basically be the future CUSA West with New Mexico added.

Nothing for Marshall in the MAC been there done that. More likely to go back to FCS if CUSA completely goes to h#ll

I don't think La Tech will be going anyplace. Cusa is still better than where they were and mwc is almost in the same geographical area as the wac. LaT will stay. Hey Somiss, ju guys want to come with us?
