FG JAGS. We are within 1 score in the fourth quarter on the road. This is real FBS football.

Final 36-29 stAte. Great offensive performance by the Jags. Metheny had 250 yds. He's our new QB. We had the ball for 35 minutes. Our defense still has too many penalties. But at least it looks like we've fixed one side of the ball. That was the first FBS game USA has ever played.

I didn't get to watch the game, but my father was at it. He called and said he was impressed with your QB. And trust me, he's seen A LOT of football.

Just glad we were competitive and made it a game for 3 plus quarters, eliminate the penalties and we may squeak out another win this year. Great effort overall.

Stupid graduation...why do you have to come every 4 years. We've got a decent linebacking unit, but the rest of the group is very young. We started 2 Freshmen and a Sophomore in the back 4 today.
That and the USA QB decided to morph into Dwight Dasher for most of the first half. Throw that in with another poor half from Aplin, and you get the first half we had.
Second half was a much better offensive performance, but the same ole same ole defensively.

Yea, Metheny was better than the QB USA was trying to go with, but he really turned it up a notch this week.

RE: USA at stAte Game Thread
There was a point in the first half where ASU's best offensive play was "Offsides...on the defense"
Our stats were incredibly misleading tonight, we dominated USA's defense, but the stupid turnovers and our defenses inability to get off the field on 3rd down kept us from running anywhere close to the number of plays we normally do.
Until the 5 minute mark of the 4th quarter, we had 9 posessions, 5 resulting in touchdowns. 2 in turnovers on the first or 2nd play from scrimmage, one in a fumble inside the 10 yard line, and the final, a 3 and out.

I think if we can fix our defensive penalty problems, we could actually be competitive in our home game with FAU and on the road vs FIU, UNT, and Hawai'i. I think we win at least one of those. So long as we build off this game and fix our self-imposed mistakes.
