Don't think it's "realistic" to predict FIU to beat Louisville or for the Cajuns to beat Oklahoma State, I'd say they are two of our better shots at scoring AQ victories, but if forced to bet money on both games on an outright winner today, I'm taking Louisville and Ok State and I suspect you would too.

We beat them last season at their house, why would it be unrealistic to think we "could" beat the Cards in Miami?

RE: My Realistic Prediction of Sun Belt Non Conference Games 2012
A few points.

Its hard to guess every game correct. Rather than general W-L records for each conference.

The SBC is an underdog in every SEC game. It doesn't mean that Mississippi State or Kentucky (or even Tennessee) could drop a game to the Belt.

Louisville is going to be a lot better this year. FIU could still beat them. I'm not seeing it though.

Oklahoma State will be a favorite at ULL.

I think the SBC will break through this year on a few games. But I couldn't predict any particular games.

I didn't say it's unrealistic to think you "could" beat them, I said it's not realistic to predict FIU to win. When the game rolls around, Louisville will likely be favored and will likely win, does that mean FIU couldn't win, no it doesn't, but again, smart money today is on Louisville and it's likely that the day of the game smart money will be on Louisville. Just like 99% of all AQ vs non-AQ games.

So why do you agree with the FIU @ Duke prediction? Is that game within the 1%?

I agree with you that the UCF and Cards games will be tougher this year as both games would have been circled in red by the coaches from last season.

Meh...Duke is Duke. Personally, I wouldn't bet on any of the three games, but Duke vs FIU is the one I'd be least likely to bet on. On paper in July it looks like the best chance for a win of the three, but Duke is still an ACC program and just when you think FIU is going to have their day, would be the day that they actually look like an ACC program.

If I had to bet one for the Sun Belt to win, it would be FIU over Duke. If I had to just bet two of the three games, I'd pick Ok State, Louisville and wouldn't touch the Duke/FIU game, which will almost certainly have the closest spread of the three games in question.

I'm not going saying it 100% goning to happen this way. This is just my prediction as of today. FIU did beat Louisvill last year so its not unrealistic. Feel free to post your realistic prediction if you like.

My realistic prediction is Louisville and Oklahoma State both win and I didn't say it was "unrealistic" for FIU to win the game, simply that smart money is on Louisville, there is a difference.

I agree with you on OK State. ULL has more question marks this year than many want to recognize. Also, OK State is returning a RB that ran for 1,200 yards and his backup that ran for 600 yards. They are big along the OLine and have athletic WR's. On Defense, they return a lot of production. They will also have their Groza watch list kicker back.

Three words: Fear the (Louisiana) Monroe. Arkansas, Auburn, and Baylor will fall mightily to the Warhawks. I base this on a CUSA poster who thought UNT would lose only one game in the Belt this year. That being ULM.

How good could Arkansas be anyway (sheesh)?

I explained a while back...you lost a special player at TE that will not be easily replaced, also you are replacing lots of lost production on defense. You may have new faces coming in that signed with big FCS programs, but that means nothing until they prove it on the field. Not all of them pan out. Like I said, question marks my friend.

Our OOC is tough, as usual. Heck, it is ranked as the toughest in the SBC. I do not have any expectations of us winning any of our OOC games, except against Tulane. However, DO NOT judge us by our OOC record. We will be a good squad. We have added more speed, strength and athleticism to our defense that was ranked 22 overall last year. Our offense returns pretty much everyone.
