One warning, at home Arkansas fields 18 on both offense and defense. Seven of those wear striped shirts so they're easy to pick out.

The Hogs are beatable. I know that this is going to be hard to believe, but we lead the series with them 3-2. We had a 6 game series scheduled and they cancelled the 6th game. That's a weird bunch over there.

Yes, especially considering the university canned Bobby Petrino after that motorcycle accident he had with a girl he hired and had an affair with. I'm not sure the same system will be in place so Southern Miss definitely has a chance.

I think Tennessee ran that same offense for a few years in the late 1990s.

Arkansas, Southern Miss announce non-con game in 2013
In 2013, Southern Miss will play one of the toughest non-conference schedules in college football with games against Nebraska (home) and Boise State (road). Now, they’ve added a SEC opponent to that list.

USM athletic director Jeff Hammond announced the Golden Eagles will travel to Arkansas on Sept. 14 as well.

“We look forward to the challenge of going to Fayetteville in 2013 to face a strong Southeastern Conference opponent in the University of Arkansas,” Hammond said in a statement. “Playing quality opponents it helps with our national exposure as well as a new regional rivalry that allows our fan base an opportunity to see their team play. We are not strangers to playing teams in the SEC and now we can add Arkansas to that long list.”

The game will be the first-ever meeting between the two. Arkansas already has a non-conference game with Rutgers scheduled for the following weekend, Sept. 21

That Liberty Bowl is one of the games that haunts me. Both Liberty Bowls do to a certain extent, but that one more because we flat out dominated that game and then completely gagged it away. There's one other bowl game that haunts me worse, but I've been in therapy and almost completely forgotten about it.

This game is gonna get ugly fast.

When we were in the SWC with them, they had the worst fans of all the schools. I was on the sidelines during a game up there where 2 glass Jack Daniels bottles were thrown from the stands. One hit a players helmet and shattered, the other a few feet from me. I pointed out the two guys who did it and they were removed, but it didn't help the overall situation much.

I doubt they have changed much, but maybe without the glass bottles.
