OT: Wassup with the Liberty posters???
Is their program being considered for CUSA? Did I miss something? No disrespect intended and welcome to the board.

Liberty would be a good addition to CUSA's new look.

As good as U of Alasksa-Anchorage would be for the Big East's new look.

I think UCF will be a good addition to the new look of the Mac once the Big East gets gutted again and the Basketball schools split and take the Big East name.

Looks to me they care about their school. They want to make sure their best interests are not overlooked, like the rest of us would be if we were thinking of moving up.
I figure, if they move up they will go to the MAC. (If the presidents are not prejudiced against a Christian school.)
They would not be a good fit for CUSA, at this time.

I believe they are a real possibility for the SunBelt, and this site is also the #1 Sun Belt board.

They do have money. Maybe the SunBelt will welcome them.

Liberty does not represent the views of most Christians

RE: OT: Wassup with the Liberty posters???
They love their school, like alot of people. LU has the money and the fan support to play at the next level. Before he died, Jerry Flawell had dreams of turning Liberty football into an Evangelical version of what the LDS have in BYU and Catholics have in Notre Dame - or at least had, in all the years I've spent as first a Catholic school student and now Catholic school parent, I've know very few Notre Dame fans. The problem for Liberty is alot of people, for whatever reason, don't want an Evangelical BYU/Notre Dame around.

Unlikely. I think the reaction has been the same for all three possible FBS conferences regarding them. All the FCS move ups have the same profile. Its obvious what Presidents are looking at.

RE: OT: Wassup with the Liberty posters???
Hey guys. The reality is that we just realy have a growing and fired up fanbase. I haven't posted much over here. Most of my posts here have been general discussions about JMU and to post the UD rumor. I don't see CUSA as a real possibility for LU just now, but things can change, I think we will end up in a WAC/FCS combo conference or the SBC. I would love CUSA, but I'm not sure we are ready or even on the radar.

You will find that LU is headed in the right direction, is financially ready (fully funded, $1B net worth), and has a fanbase that is big and national.

Anyway, I'm not pimping, I was just adding to other non-LU discussions on here.

Not a cult but they are more conservative than the majority of prodestant sects and they don't represent Catholics or lds. You can be against the views of liberty u and not be antichristian

My view of them has always been that they might as well be called Rush Limbaugh University. They're sort of a clearance rack version of Washington and Lee, or maybe Ave Maria school of law after a head injury.

And, here we go.... The reality is that we are a prepared and well managed athletics program no matter what you may think of our religious or political stances. This is an athletics conference, so it's about athletics and what Liberty Athletics can bring to the table.

The BE on the west coast, the B12 in the SEC, 1/2 the BE in the ACC, 1/2 CUSA in BE; it's all about the money; and if a conference thinks a school can made them money they will invite them. They will dance with Liberty, the devil, or both as long as it makes them money.

No, it's about the institutions with which I want my university to associate. And I do not want it associated in any fashion with Liberty University. Not that I'm really worried - I have zero doubt that our administration would blackball Liberty, and I have zero doubt that the issue would never get that far down the alphabet without one of our conference brothers tossing out the blackball first.

No CUSA poster introduced the subject of Liberty University to this board. Your comrades came here touting your school, so you have no complaint if you receive scorn and ridicule in return.
