If it is UL, it is University of Louisville, but the thread topic is asking about the University of Louisiana of Lafayette. Though they often do it on their website and elsewhere, they are and always will be the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and any reference to a status as the University of Louisiana is prohibited (paging Dawg06 for the specific bylaw).

ULL and don't anyone from there tell you any different. There is even a state law written over it.

Has Tulane considered switching their name to University of Louisiana? If you have the rights to it, might as well look into it. Could be a good thing.

I think one of the Tulane posters cleared this up a while back in another thread. There is a reason why Tulane doesn't use the U of L moniker.

Give ULL a break. They were probably hurt more in this C-USA expansion than anyone else. (and it really isn't because they didn't get in, as that wasn't going to happen; just that Tech did). No time to razz them.

Why are you guys picking on a non conference member?

I've always liked the Cajuns. Great group to watch a game with, their tailgate is among the best, their fans are well informed and level headed. With a little success this year they pulled very well and the last time at the Rock they came in droves.

If they want to be called Louisiana thats what I'll call them.

We've only had to ban one poster ever in the history of Sun Belt BBS and it was because of the vitriol involved in this subject.

They didn't want in anyways...Their admin said they'd rather be in the Belt than CUSA and their fans are awaiting a Big XII invite.
