Dude you have no idea what you are talking about. Quit the lies. When football was announced donations increased 1000% the FIRST year. 1000%.
Plus, in two years of football we've have two $1million donations. Both came from alumni. Get your facts right. Stop the lies.
I would enjoy seeing your numbers. What were your donations in 2009 vs. 2011 if you have the facts? 1000%, nice try, what were your donations before 200K?
Athletic revenue generated by Georgia State in 2010 was $2.3M or 12% of your budget (USA today).
Pg 11 of that same book has ya'll going from $600,000 to $1.5 million from 09 to 2010, which is not exactly 1000%. The fund went up 1000%, not the giving.
You went through that whole thing to not lose this argument. I don't have time for pretty rebuts. Ok, you win! Congrats App State fan.

Actually, I ran my mouse over the right side of my screen that shows all of the pages. And way to expose your schools smoke and mirrors campaign.

Actually, thanks for further proving my point that still flattens your argument (which was completely pulled out your ass) that donations are still bad. We did all of this with being FCS. We are now going to be FBS, big boy football. Imagine the donations flowing in. Still

I remember when I lived with my parents let's go shopping meant driving to Atlanta.
LOL...I live off of I-20 on the West side (or East to y'all) and you couldn't be more right. Every weekend the interstate is covered with AL tags.
I'll try and get us back on track after lie detector debates.
'I wont try and speak for other alumni bases, but for USA most of the attendees for the GaSt game last year came up from the Mobile area and they did not number 5,000....more like half that.
You have to remember that the vast majority of USA alums did not have football to connect them to the university. It is the current students, local Mobilians and recent grads that are the ones going to games right now.
And as one of my fellow Jag fans said in an another post, most USA fans will not care about GaSt as a rival. It will be all about Troy once September of 2012 arrives.

I think GSU could become a rival with MT pretty quickly, due to the proximity of the two schools... They'd be the closest, other than WKU. Easy travel would give both schools all the more reason to be even more pumped about the games.

Many other FCS programs have higher donations levels (the one that comes to mind is 75% higher) yet during discussion such as these the logic that their donations and revenue would grow as well doesn't convey.

I hate to burst your bubble on this, but the Sun-Belt isn't "big boy football." Before anyone here flips out C-USA football isn't either, and at this point the BE really isn't either. You are raising up a level, but the average fan in Atlanta isn't going to care that much more. They wouldn't care that much more if you got in C-USA/alliance, and only slightly more for the BE. This isn't meant as hate on anyone, but honestly non-AQ football has been watered down to the point where there's very few who register on anything more than a regional level, and the only thing saving the BE from the same fate currently is an affiliation with Notre Dame.

Casual fans who aren't already into your program won't know the difference between the FCS opponents and the Sun Belt opponents. I'll bet I could walk outside right now and find a casual football fan and convince them that every southeastern FCS team is already in the Sun Belt.

Oh I agree, and most people around here in the state of NC know about ECU and know who we are, but outside of die hard ECU fans couldn't name you more than a couple of C-USA members. This didn't just happen either even at C-USA's best most people in NC didn't know or care who was in it, and some casual non-message board ECU fans wouldn't know.

Really not many teams are playing big-boy football any more. You are hard pressed any year to find 10 really quality teams.
One thing is for sure SBC football is getting better and I'm not sure you can say that about football in many other conferences. Even the SEC, as a whole, was down this year.

You know big boy football when you see it. When you walk in a stadium and there are 80k+ people there and the place is just crazy. People have been tailgating for several days with their RV's. It's not as much about how great the teams are as much as the excitement, atmosphere, and spectacle around the game. The FSU vs Florida game I went to a few years ago had that feel. I've been to a game at VT and that had that feel. None of the schools in NC have that feel really. UNC especially just feels like no one even really cares to be there. I think ECU has that type of atmosphere, just on a slightly smaller scale. Either way there aren't schools that have that type of feel in non-AQ.

UNC and NCST will never be that way. They have proved for years that they cannot meet expectations, no matter how much talent, or how much they pay their coaches. Duke is laughable, but improving very slowly. Wake, despite a run, is largely irrelevant. This is why football is still wide open in NC. People want a winner, and no one expects it from our ACC schools.
