VT tickets
anyone else get order info from UCATS recently and think ticket prices are ludicrous? anything in lower bowl is 90-155$ basically... i am not paying 70$ to sit in last few rows either... Im not cheap but geez... expected 50-75$...

RE: VT tickets
Expensive, but I believe those are set by the Redskins. Apparently this is about what they charged for VT/Boise State a well, so it will definitely be an expensive ticket. We were thinking of going and making a trip of it, but it could get real expensive if we take the kids, which we had planned. Not sure we will attend at those prices.

RE: VT tickets
Each ticket comes with parking as well.

But that still doesn't make it close to competitive pricing.

If they are paying us $3 Million for the game, they have to make it back somewhere.

yeah, I agree. If I were going to this game, I would just go and buy from a scalper on the street. Bet you dollars to donuts they'll be half face value.

UC has to sell 10k tickets or it comes out of the money we earn for the game.

wanted to go soo bad, but between gas prices at that point, and tickets for me an the wife(who wont care if there or home).. that money would be much wiser spent on half bball season tix or tickets to toledo and part of bowl game... soo if I buy 8 tickets I get 8 parking spots?? ridiculous in all ways in my opinion

Another big opportunity to show major conf we can travel. What were the numbers for the Boise/VT game? I am sure we will be compared against those numbers.

sorry.. as a young alumni who just got married I cannot make this.. it wont be long until these big OOC games hours from one fan base will be a thing of the past with these ticket prices.. send 4 people in a car with hotel and tickets you are looking at 1k easy.. had tickets been 45-75... u r under 750...

depending on job situation I may somehow go since I have friends in DC to stay with.. but Id rather go see an english premier league team play in baltimore for 50-75$ a ticket since I can never see them in the states than over pay for a game for a team I have season tickets for..

So, in essence, it is like a bowl game. We have to sell 10,000 tickets or it costs us $750K ($75 x 10,000) out of $3M.

It would be 10,000-ticket sold x $75

Expensive tickets, no doubt. But we've got a group of 4 excited about making the trip.

I meant 10,000 tickets minus tickets sold x $75.

Even if we don't sell a single ticket the payout is too damn big to pass up. That still gives us $2.25 million for playing it there. If we could make $2.25 million every game at Nippert we would not have the financial problems we do.

Thanks. that makes me feel a lot better about not paying $150 for a ticket, traveling 8.5 hours and watching a "home" game in VT's front yard.

RE: VT tickets
I will be there. I understand the concerns with the costs of travel and the fact that this is in Hokie territory, but I think all of the negativity is excessive. The payday notwithstanding, we will be on the national stage in the regular season and have the opportunity to get a signature win. The rest of our regular season schedule doesn't exactly afford such luxuries.

Stubhub already has $55.00 tickets; I'll be there and also plan to stay space A at Langley Air Force on the cheap. http://www.stubhub.com/cincinnati-bearca...2-4026622/
