Maybe we will get a little love from ESPN...
Jay Bilas... "I am a big believer in Jerod Haas. He is an excellent basketball mind, and a terrific young coach that has a great understanding of the game, can X and O with anyone, and works his tail off. Jerod has a fabulous demeaner on the floor, and is an incredibly intense competitor. As fine of a coach he is, he's even a better person. UAB hit a home run with Haase"
Hubert Davis... "Coach Jerod Haase is a great match for UAB. His experience at UNC highlighted his dedication to college students athlets. He is honest and upfront with players, and every player he coaches will improve on and off the court. He is a hard worker, always well-prepared. UAB will be proud of the program he will establish."

Alabama's population has generally disregarded the opinions of nationally recognized &/or respected figures. We supported Eugene conner on the streets of B'ham, we supported the George Wallace administration's "Stand in the schoolhouse door" at UA and its attack on marchers at the Gordon Pettus bridge on "Bloody Sunday", and now we support Scott Beason and his Immigration Law and reelect Roy Moore. We have a history of not caring what other Americans might think as we support those who do what we want them to do. Jay Bilas is no exception.

Glad to see he is well respected. Now if he can get Kansas and UNC to play us in Bartow....UAB can get the respect it deserves.

Regular season games against any of those would probably be at the BJCC.

A home and home or the Bartow is fine with me. We will neeed 7000 more seats if either team came to town.

Yes, not caring what Jay Bilas says is exactly like supporting Bull Connor.
Is there anything you can't somehow compare to the Civil Rights movement in Alabama?

So Jay does this mean if we are borderline/bubble up or under, you won't ask who did they play or beat.

If we did this then the Athletic department would have to make an effort to make tickets available to UAB alumni, donors, season ticket holders, etc before making them available to the hordes.
We did not sell out the UNC or NC State games but that was NIT with mediocre teams (if they were not mediocre then they would be in the tournament). Imagine a successful UAB team vs a ranked UNC.

Haase will probably quickly realize the home court advantage of Bartow and may opt to keep the games on our home court.

Wow! Talk about a stretch. I just don't care for Bilas after all his negativity every time UAB makes the big dance. How that brings in a discussion of Wallace and Beason is beyond me.

What we need is a BIG BRUISIN' RB. Someone that punish the defense. A 6'2" 225lb RB. I don't why we don't recruit one of those.

I didn't know anyone else actually read him anymore.
Like I said, we don't pay any attention to people who say things we don't like to think about. Just disregard those people and they will go away and leave us content to do things like we have always done them.

and leave him in on third and 1 after he'd driven the entire field on his own back.

That's a scatback compared to what BNB wants. We would need a 6'5" 260 pounder to satisfy him.
