Can we talk about something other than conference realignment for a moment? How about a list of 2011's top plays.
For symbolic purposes the game winning field goal in Detroit is probably the play of the year but I have to give some recognition to this beauty, where our guy cruises into the end zone like an Italian sports car:
It's good to see the skill players go full throttle like that.
1. Sims' Kick vs. Ohio
2. Ashford's catch vs. Ohio
3. Ashford's TD vs. Toledo
4. Sims' Kick vs. Ball State
6. NaPalm's TD vs. Ball State
7. TommyLee's 2 KR TDs in Toledo
8. Jefferson's Pick 6
9. Durante's Pick 6
10. Harnish's heave on the last drive vs. Ball State
I'm sure I'm forgetting some. I feel guilty not having Moore on the list somewhere. His catch vs. ASU would probably be 11th.
1. Harnish's pick six against Ball State being called back.
2. Brazil dropping a TD in the MACC
3. Buffalo's missed XP
4. Ohio throwing deep on first down
5. Ohio's missed FG
6. Pick any of EMU's drops
7. The spot we got on the fake FG in the GoDaddy bowl
8. Toledo putting Owens in

We really did get every conceivable break which was amazing. You almost got the feeling that every tough loss over the past decade was made up for in one season with finally some lucky breaks. I have a feeling we could replay the season 100 times starting out at 2-3 after that CMU loss, and maybe get to where we got 5 times out of 100.
9. Beckman not knowing how to manage a game

Truly a reminder how close we came to NOT even making it to the MACC, let alone winning the MACC!

Moore's TD catch in the MACC is much overlooked. Watch the adjustment he makes on the safety at the goal line.

OR even a winning season!
To me, last year made up for everything from 2004-2010. Though I feel like we as fans still have something to settle for 2003.

Dog Fan, I would argue that the 2010 Huskies did bulldoze their way to the MACC...However, when we got there...well...you know.
What would you classify as the top 3 Huskie plays of the century (2000 and beyond)?
Mine would be:
1) PJ Fleck's TD catch to tie Ohio late in the 4th qtr on 4th down to keep the dream season going.
2) Haldi to Sheldon to squash the Tide.
3) Ashford's catch to get NIU in prime scoring position to win the MAC championship game.
Not creative pics but that is how I would rank them.
Not calling them the top plays, but my favorite moments of 2011:
1. Sims' kick to seal the MACC (nuff said)
2. Durante's INT against ASU (I'm partial to moments that occur while the game's still going on where you just know that "now we've got this bastard")
3. The Sims kick against BSU, followed by the premature artillery strike on the Ball State sideline (nobody survives a trip to Dekalb)
4. The whole second half against WMU, where the Broncos were reminded in most convincing fashion who was the alpha male in this pack.
5. Lynch's drive in the Go Daddy/ Demarcus Grady going to the phone in an "all hands on deck" moment/ and Harnish running back out on the sideline
6. Celebrating on the field in Mobile
7. Having a cold one (or four) outside of HuskieHog64's RV after the EMU game with "Detroit Rock City" blaring.
8. Dancing with Mrs Cawoo after HC at Lord Stanley's (somehow, after a Homecoming win, even dirty polka songs about sorority b*tches and transvestites seem romantic)
9. The whole next day after the Toledo game (once I could be sure that I wasn't going to have a cardiac arrest)

It's a lost opportunity that ALL of our Saturday home games are not on CSN. Maybe you can use your connections to twist some arms in Athletics, HJ!

I KNOW you and the other long time donors have more pull than I do.
I don't have any "pull". I try and keep my suggestions to those that will not cost the program much money if any at all.
I really think the lack of us NOT having more than 1 game on CSN has to do with our contract with IMG/ISP. I think that we took the easy way out with a guaranteed paycheck and gave up our rights in this department...though that is with no inside info and it may not be that way.

Your #8 was #1 on my list.
(Oops, guess I should not have mentioned that!)
So you were the guy with the lazy eye and the orthopedic shoes that tried to cut in? I just chalked it up to typical Stanley's clientele, some of whom were in there when I was at NIU in 1993.
