Pumped for our guys this Tuesday. Playing these Top 25 teams is only going to help us later in the year. That being said, Im hoping for a W which I definately think we are capable of. Quite a bit of Memphis boards discrediting our close game with Duke.

it's tough to win at FedExForum...

Memphis can start...

Joe Jackson (five star)
Will Barton (five star)
Adonis Thomas (five star)
Wesley Witherspoon (senior)
Tarik Black (all-cusa)

should be a fun game...18,000+ in attendance.

I call BS.

As a matter of fact, most on our boards have given Belmont HUGE credit for the Duke game and think if Memphis doesn't come to play 40 minutes, we could take a loss.

But, think whatever you want to or use whatever you need to to stir up your fans.

Good luck

It's very winnable for Belmont. I liken the Bruins to playing a service academy/Ga. Tech in football. Never the most athletic, but Belmont doesn't make alot of mistakes and plays fundamentally sound basketball. Memphis will have to play disciplined and not get flustered with what Belmont does to win.
It'll be close.

I thought you guys looked tremendous against Duke. That press is going to be hard to bring the ball up against. I expect a good competitive game with the winner decided by 5 or fewer points. Good luck to the Bruins!

I will root for Belmont in every other game you play this year...just not this one. Most Memphis fans respect Belmont and like to root for teams in non power-conferences to do well. Being located here in Tennessee is a bonus too.

RE: Memphis
I will be watching. I really can't compare this game to the Duke matchup. I have said both times that Belmont has played Duke that it is a good matchup for us because of the we play the game on both sides of the ball (unfortunately, we need to play this game two points better than we have in the past). I don't think that the FedEx Forum at 11am is going to give Memphis anywhere near the home court advantage that Duke had on Friday night, but I do think that Memphis plays a style of basketball that Belmont usually struggles to keep up with.

With that said, this is the best team Belmont has ever put on a basketball court, and I would argue that there is not a team in the NCAA that we can't put up a solid fight against. I'm hoping for a win and if we bring our best game, I believe we will get one.

I'm also predicting that Kerron Johnson has the best game of his college career tomorrow.

Agree with Byrd.

Belmont by 3 (plus late seconds foul shots).

I think for this to happen, Ian Clark needs to take control, and become Alex Renfroe.

Was this game always planned to be on ESPN? First time in a while an ASun team has made ESPN1 I think.

As a Tiger fan, I'm glad to have Belmont on the schedule. You have a tough team that will help our OOC strength of schedule.

But don't expect an easy game in Memphis. We're pretty good too.

We're happy to have the tough games too. We won too many cream puffs last year and our RPI wasn't what it could have been. I'm looking forward to a hard fought game on both sides.

I don't know about the rest of the A-Sun, but I can't remember Belmont EVER being on ESPN1 (except maybe first round NCAA tourney games). It's exciting that we have a regular season game on a normal TV station, as opposed to my laptop sitting on my coffee table with a bad refresh rate.

We are not getting anything to land right now.

Also, why is Brandon Baker taking all the 3s?

Just keep hanging around.
How fun would a doubleheader weekend be at Bridgestone with Memphis/Belmont and someotherbigschoolthatdraws/local mid major?
Hit some damn shots and knock em off. If Cleveland St. can do it...

Great first half. Just about what I thought. Your boys will fight till the end and will come at us strong in the 2nd.

Btw, my son has an assistant coach at his school that played at Belmont and we really like Belmont as a destination for him to continue his basketball career. Hope to be a Bruin dad in three years. 03-wink

With that said, today I'm a TIGER fanatic. GO TIGERS GO!!!

RE: Memphis
Tough loss today. Memphis was too athletic for us. We don't play well against those types of teams. We play a fundamental type of basketball, not run & gun.

I'm still glad Duke and Memphis were on our schedule for the start. Hopefully that gets the rest of our opponents for the year scared about how bad we can beat them.
