UCF committing more NCAA Recruiting Violations?
What is the deal with UCF? Are they really using Michael Jordan star status to land recruits? This has possible NCAA violations written all over it.

Staphon Blair, a 6-8 center with a high motor, met NBA legend Michael Jordan on his official visit to UCF and gave a commitment to the Golden Knights.

So he met an NBA hall of famer, and he signed? Yeah...

I guess that's the only reason any basketball recruit would sign at UCF.

Well, since they are going to the Big East, they have to act like a BCS school now.

TampaKnight, you know that's not right. You cant use NBA legends as a way to land recruits. That's just totally unethical and against NCAA rules.

Technically he met a potential teammates dad during his visit that just happened to be MJ.

Now did UCF make sure it happened to try to get the john hancock? Most likely yes.

Is it against the rules? Not really sure. More of a gray area

MJ has two kids on the team...I'm sure he goes to practices and hangs out with the team at times. So it would be easy for a recruit (or anybody) to see him/meet him. Who cares man.

Schools do this all the time. A kid we're recruiting is likely to end up at either Temple or Auburn. On his official to Auburn, he met with Bo Jackson. Different sport, but same difference. It's pretty shady **** IMO.

Not against the rules, just more jealous marshall fans flapping their gums in a jealous rage we stole their coach. He is a players dad no different than having a former player come back and meet recruits. If you guys had any famous people associated with your program im sure you'd do the same.

Michael Jordan has been seen at UCF a lot lately with the lockout and stuff. I got an autograph from the 3 Jordans a few weeks ago

Thomas has permission to meet and contact with recruits because he is an employee of the University.

RE: UCF committing more NCAA Recruiting Violations?
I highly doubt a recruit signed just because he wet his pants after meeting a NBA legend. If you can show me proof MJ is putting these kids on his jet and flying them out to Vegas to meet him and the boys and enjoy a little poker and stripper attention then you might be on to something. You have MJ on tape telling the UNC team they will be hooked up with any gear they want if they make it to the Final Four and nothing came of that so I highly doubt the NCAA will look into anything MJ does at UCF

RE: UCF committing more NCAA Recruiting Violations?
I don't think the fact that Jordan is a HOF player makes this shady at all.

The fact that he partly owns an NBA franchise, on the other hand, that could be bad.
