Are there any stores in the burbs that carry NIU gear in the store? A friend at work is looking for a shirt for the game this weekend and does not want to drive to DeKalb to get it.

I have never seen anything NIU being sold outside of DeKalb/Sycamore.

Good luck. The virtual lack of NIU stuff outside (and in many places within) DeKalb/Sycamore is one of the problems we have been addressing here for years.

Perhaps Johnno's (or other sporting good stores) in Aurora? Call first!

There is a place...but I have to contact my son in Chicago to find out the specifics. Will get back to you later today.

There are sports clothing stores even down here in Peoria that have NIU shirts/sweatshirts. But they only have like one ....maybe two designs. So surely there are places like that in the Chicago area....just may not be much selection.

Finish Line in the Fox Valley Mall used to carry a couple of T-Shirts and Sweatshirts. I know you can purchase some NIU garb from the Finish Line website too. Might be worth a call.

Kohls in the Western Suburbs has had NIU shirts and hats in the past.

Lidz at the Mall of America has an NIU hat now and then.

Jewel Osco on Eola and North Aurora Roads in Naperville/Aurora has some NIU t-shirts.

Unfortunately none of these are much better than going to DeKalb since she lives in Arlington Heights. What are the chances VCB will have their trailer there selling shirts. Did anyone go to the IOWA game a few years back and remember the availability of merchandise on game day?

Really? That Jewel is right by my house. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in there.

My friend Anna told me they had NIU stuff at the Jewel-Osco in Joliet.

I think the Alum Association will be giving shirts away.

I am also fairly certain that some NIU vs UW shirts will also be onsale but not 100%.

yeah a few years ago I got a NIU hoodie from Campus Town in Northwoods. It was "red" but in the sun it looked more like pink.

I've seen NIU gear at Finish Line and Champs.

There is a very good chance. I believe they were there for the Iowa game. You should call VCB and ask.

I have seen NIU stuff at Campus Colors in Deer Park. That might be a little closer...

I would use the internets.

I will probably stop in with my co-worker and pick up an extra for myself. Seems prudent to support the places that carry NIU stuff since they are so few and far between outside of DeKalb. They have a few locations in the burbs.

Let us know about their NIU selection. Online they only have 7 items.

Several of the bigger Chicago college gear stores carry NIU items. There is a store on Webster by Depaul (near Racine) that has several NIU t-shirts and sweatshirts FYI...
