UNT System Opening Pharmacy School
FORT WORTH -- The University of North Texas System is on the "fast track" to launch the region's first pharmacy school, part of continuing efforts to position itself as a cutting-edge medical training and research institution, Chancellor Lee Jackson said Thursday.
UNT plans to start a doctor of pharmacy program by August 2013, with 80 students in the first class. The College of Pharmacy could grow to 100 students by the third year.
The UNT System board of regents approved the plan at its Thursday meeting. The school will be housed at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth but will partner with UNT campuses in Denton and Dallas.

Very nice. The president of UNT is really working to make it a major force in the DFW area.
I actually got a personalized mailer from UNT about the upcoming football season. Moves like this will pay dividends with the casual football fan over time.

Yet, radio broadcast are just a waste of money?
By the way a BIG Congrats to UNT. I love the way Texas handles higher ed, beats the pants off of Arkansas and Louisiana. At least over there your university isn't hindered by the fat lazy sacred cow.

Yes, this is a good investment as opposed to radio broadcasts. The mailer got the attention of several people in my neighborhood and has resulted in people purchasing tickets.
A radio broadcast is not going to be heard except by diehard fans. It will do nothing for building thier brand.
The casual football fan will chose to watch a game on TV rather than listen to one on the radio.

Unfortunately, we have not 1 but 2 fat lazy sacred cows. Thankfully there are a lot more resources to go around.

those universities are actually highly productive for their level of total state funding.....they are highly competitive and productive compared to both in state and out of state public universities on a "funding" per student basis counting state funding alone, counting tuition alone, or counting the combined state funding and tuition
so they produce a very good return on investment for The State of Texas

True, but off-topic. Not surprising.
