Nothing surprises me when it comes to the stupidity of the average American concerning politics. The last 2 years is enough evidence for me.

It's the economy, stupid.

If we're doing much better a year from now, Obama gets a second term. If we're doing much worse, he loses. About the same, it could be close.

My own expectation is that a year from now, we'll be thinking of this as the good old days.

I agree....but....Ill take Barry again if that means the economy will turn around. It is that important that it does. I talked to my guy yesterday...I'm in the process of preparing to "hunker down" and protect myself and my family from the impending disaster that I see ahead.

Agree totally. I'll take an economic turnaround no matter who has to bring it about. But I don't see anything that Obama has done, is doing, or has talked about doing in the future that will impact our economy positively. Unfortunately, the best I can say for republicans is that things may get worse more slowly if they're in charge.

If the next 16 months are anything like the last 16 months, Obama will lose by 55-45 to just about any GOPer who doesn't have a criminal record.

Is there any scenario where re-electing Obama means the economy will turn around?

"My guy", "hunker down"? You sound like a loon when you say crap like that. I guess it shouldn't surprise me though since you ARE a loon. 03-lmfao

Under Scenario #1, yes.

If it's #2 or #3... I think he's guaranteed to lose, and with a good chance of losing in a landslide like Jimmy Carter did in 1980.

You two have been hitting the crack pipe too hard. Obama, despite the unemployment rates, still has a higher than 50% approval rating. He leads every single Republican candidate in countless polls.

The fact remains that he's still popular. Not with you right-wing loons, but with the Democrats and Independents. No Republican is polling well with independents.

Unless the country takes a major nose-dive, which it won't, he'll win an easy reelection.

RE: Obama holds big 2012 lead over Republicans
Obama is no way a sure thing. Next year at this time the primaries will be wrapping up and Repulicans will have their nominee and united. Obama will own the economy 100%. He can't just say George Bush eight years blah, blah, blah like he did his first two and a half yeasr. American people will ask are things getting better or our we just settling for 10% unemployment and 15 trillion in debt. The issue with Obama is stupid decisions like the nlrb going after Boeing which built a factory in South Carolina creating jobs and Obama wants to stop that to protect union jobs in Washington while taking away new jobs in South Carolina that Boeing created. Goverment interfering with a company's operations.

I'd like to blame this on you being high, but you're really just stupid.

Gallup has him at 46% approval.

He is at 41% in PA and the mid 40's in FL. If Obama can't win PA, he can't win period.

Your stupid comment about the economy not taking a nose dive when we are in the midst of it getting worse shows how absolutely ignorant you are. Housing prices are down to levels not seen since 2004, unemployment is going back up, there is next to no growth in the economy, at least none that makes any difference. And yet you're still moronic enough to claim Obama's reelection is a walk.

It's one thing to be a partisan hack and try and spin things, it's very much another to completely ignore reality in defense of a president who has been a near total failure in his first term.

Fool.

Gallup and Rasmussen polls both show Obama being under 50% for approval. On top of that, Obama already has a solid "floor" of disapproval that will likely stay because of the struggling economy. The floor I am referring to is the percentage of people who will not vote no on Obama no matter what because they feel he does not deserve a 2nd term. The real story is the amount of people who strongly approve. The approval numbers can be skewed a number of ways by either rephrasing questions to illicit a specific response or by oversampling specific voter blocs (either based on sex, party affiliation, race, etc).

Show me the polls that show independents breaking in favor of Obama. From what I've seen, both independent and GOP voters are not in favor of Obama.
