How many 3-stars did GSU sign? I'm not saying it isn't true, but this information isn't readily available on Rivals (or Scout) since you are an FCS team. I could only find one 3 star player signed for Georgia Southern. Can you please list your three star players for me? For reference, I've listed the number of 3 stars each Sun Belt team signed below:

3 stars signed including JUCO/transfers (according to Rivals)
WKU 11
FIU 10
USA 8 (also one 4 star)
MTSU 8
ASU 7
ULL 7
UNT 5
ULM 3
Troy 3
FAU 2

Answer: Perception nationally that the conference is horrible on the field and consensus worst conference in FBS

Question: What would help the conference improve on this?

Answer: Add teams that have proven historically they can win and have a strong tradition that have a good shot at winning on the field. This will improve the Belt's reputation on the field and thus help all of the conference's teams in recruiting etc and shed the "worst conference in FBS" tag.

Question: Who fits the bill?

Answer: Georgia Southern and App State have historically across multiple decades in difference eras put teams on the field that win and go toe to toe with big name schools. Georgia Southern and App State have an unmatched tradition with 9 national titles and 11 title game appearances between them (6 GSU and 3 App State). The state of GA has the best ratio of FBS signees for the # of FBS schools so Ga Southern would rack up the talent immediately. As an FCS this past year they signed more three star's than any current Belt team.

Question: But they aren't in a top 10 media market, why pick them?

Answer: The Sun Belt needs winners on the field at this point to improve their image which will help all of the schools recruit better players. The large market's in the Sun Belt now have done nothing to improve the product on the field. With Ga Southern you get the Alabama of FCS and App is the hot program equivalent to FLA over the past 6 years.

Question: Who cares about Georgia Southern outside of Statesboro?

Answer: Nobody.

Ga. Southern will not move to FBS.
Ga. Southern will not receive a invite to the Sun Belt.
Ga. Southern posters will not quit 03-hissyfit pitching hissy fits hoping for attention on the Sun belt board.

And you will be right smack in the middle of it. Everyday.

Puhleaze. Hell, you probably want to invite Spring Hill College so you'll have a close rival.

Nope, but they have corralled the masses of Bayou La Batre. Their fans will make it to Hot Hoops in Hot Springs via shrimp boat.

When they resurrect their program, the Badgers will become the Notre Dame of the Upper Gulf Coast. I'm sure Bama will schedule them as they once did back in the day. If they (UA) can play Georgia State, then why not Spring Hill?
