RE: John Potter
Got to admit for some odd reason WMU has had problems defending kickoffs for many years. I don't see our personnel as that deficient. Is it some kind of scheme problem? Hard to believe that too. I think at both Illinois and Indiana in recent years we've gotten torched on the first kickoff being returned for TD's. We've always had an affection for that popup kickoff to the 35 yard line, I hate that with a passion and never understood it really. I we were to rank aspects of the WMU game, the kickoff coverage would consistently be in the bottom slot I believe.

Regardless, I still say John would make a good LB or strong safety. Only variable I don't know his speed as far as pass coverage. I do recall he was a track guy but I think he was a high jumper, if memory serves. And an athlete, doesn't get juked on kickoffs at all, he seems to really nail the runner when he gets a shot at it.

Hey, you guys wanted to talk about tackling on Kickoff coverage instead of whether to kick Field Goals or not, and that is where it led!
