MAC Championship Game
Our conference has done itself proud with an awesome game between Akron and Kent State. Overtime at 59 each! Akron wins a great game. However, a postgame near brawl puts a slight damper on it.

Wild, wild ending. Akron wins by 1. Kent to NIT.

Pretty darn well played game.

Isn't there a chance that Kent gets an at large NCAA bid? They have a pretty good record. The MAC gets two teams quite frequently, and now, with the tournament having expanded to 68, the chances seem higher, No?

For slightly deeper analysis, Kent State's RPI going into today was 70, with no good wins. You need to be top 40 as a mid-major or top 50ish with some name non-conference victories.

And by quite frequently do you mean twice in twenty years?

RE: MAC Championship Game
That was one of the best bb games I've seen all year! Two really excellent, tough teams. Saw the PAC10 Tourney Championship later on (*yawn*). Either Kent or Akron could have taken out both Arizona and Washington.

Mr. Whinny's rooting for the MAC teams in postseason play.
