Looked like there were less pull out bleachers, bout it from their video. Do they actually have an entrance into the arena now, you used to have to walk through a series of hallways like going to a high school game.

From what I can tell they spent the bulk of their money on creating an entrance. Heeke's genius is starting to wear off..................bad hire in football, stupid 4 year re-up on EZ's contract, and a less than impressive makeover of an arena that will have to do for the next 25 years.

That stupid curse, and it may be valid, applies to football, not b-ball. The Broncos ended CMU's b-ball season last year at the Q, despite the chips regular season MAC West title. So I don't believe the "curse" works against us in b-ball.

Acer is right in that it was a raucous good time in Hooterville yesterday. Our Bronco fans were tremendous, and the team felt the love. If you love sports it is always sweet to celebrate a championship. And I don't believe that within the MAC community anyway, this isn't just a paperweight West title. Our record vs. the East this year indicates that we do more than just beat up the little sisters of the west. BSU did that and we ripped them last week. The real proof though will be at the Q.

I like the CMU gym all right tho. Didn't like the excessively long walk from the parking lot. But like UA, it allows fans to be right on top of the action, and create a lot of noise.

To answer a couple of questions, DB yes the pull out bleachers are now gone. They have added a lot of chairbacks, however the general admission in the top part of the sides is still bleacher style. The new configuration has four entrances on both sides of the area. They have added a "viewers" box for the high rollers to the north end of the court. Like I said just about everyone in our group thought that it was well done.

They put in a new entrance, far to many convient "handicap" parking spots near the entrance. The general parking lot is a lot further away because of the new entrance, but you do get the feel of a "college arena".

Chip is right in that it is very dark inside. The seats are all maroon, as is the ceiling. The general lighting above the fan section is lacking. I like to keep notes on the game, and could barely read the $1.00 hard roster line ups they sell. I opted not to purchase the $3.00 piece of CMU propaganda, that I knew would not contain anything WMU in it.

If you took a vote of our group of six persons they would all say that it was a successful transformation. I do understand that the visitors locker room is lacking, but we are the visitors and I would not expect any CMU person to be concerned about that. I do hear that most other venues are better for the visitors.
