Steve Coogan should have won a best actor Oscar for it. I'm not kidding. His performance is perfect.
too bad that movie was awful

Alien 3.
--My least favorite of the four. The ending combined with the story started in Aline vs. Predator make for interesting discussion.

I loved it. I've laughed through the entire movie on multiple viewings. I'd love see the entire play within the movie.

Alien IV aka Resurrection
--Better than three but the story of how Ripley IS in this movie, along with the alien breeding program seem like quite a stretch to extend the series. At face value though the movie is still good.

The Expendables
--Stallone has a great cast and gives everyone enough screen time to shine. A total bad ass action movie.

RE: The movie thread
Rocky...

I
--great story, I loved Apollo Creed

II
--another strong story and I liked the tale of Apollo wanting revenge

III
--Mr T was ripped and Clubber Lang was bad ass. Totally believe he had the heart to take Balboa. Liked the fact that Apollo had to train him to relive his own glory now that his time had passed him bye.

IV
--It seemed fitting that Rocky would be an American Icon to fight the evil empire of Russia and Ivan Drago. Dolph was ripped. An interesting take on the Russian athletic machine versus the US. I did kind of feel the ending was a "feel good" ending for the Cold War.

V
--I totally buy that Rocky could have been ripped off. I totally buy that the series would take on the likes of a Don King and his dirty dealings. I totally buy that Rocky's kid would turn like he did. I even buy the story of Tommy Gunn. Its just the fact that the overall movie was crap.

VI
--Good way to rebound the series. I also liked the fact that they didn't "cheapen" the fight between him and Mason Dixon.

I finally watched The Losers. That was a great movie, with non-stop action...

Disagree that 3 is worse than Resurrection (everytime I think of Alien Resurrection, I think of Firefly.)

But the end of 3 with Ripley clutching the Queen as it erupts was a bit much.....

Saw the Adjustment Bureau last weekend. Good movie. Best scenes were when matt damon and emily blunt were on screen together. they had good dialogue. I'd give it a 7 or 7.5. For reference, i'd give Inception a 9

Saw it as well. Not bad.... but I was expecting something different than what I got.

Agree with swoosh. Saw this the other day, and I don't understand why it did so poorly in the box office. In a casting move that I assumed going in would be a disaster, Jason Patric ends up being fantastic. Maybe his best work (not saying much, I admit).

I think having no big name headliners hurt this movie at the box office, as much as anything. People looked at who was in it and said "who the heck are these people?"

They got punked out by other all-star actioneers in The Exendables and The A Team.

I mean, I wanted to see but had missed opportunities. I rented it via net flix and thought it was pretty good.

Since I got DirecTV, I wait until they come to me via satellite. DirecTV gets most movies before they come out on DVD...

RE: The movie thread
OK, here's something I've never understood. Why was 1941 a bust? I saw it in a theater with about 5 people. It's often referred to as Spielberg's only real stinker. But I LOVED (actually, still love) that movie. All star comedy cast, awesome homage to old WWII movies, incredible sound track. Perhaps part of my affection for it was that I was in high school at the time and I enjoyed the sophomoric humor, and I suppose that a certain amount of nostalgia is still contributing to my fan-dom. But I can watch that movie over and over. Anybody with me?

A Team was not that bad man. I think they did a good job. There was a few REAL over the top action scenes though.

I still like 1941. I think it's a hilarious movie...

Matt Damon wasn't in the cast of "The Losers"...
