yeah....and they weren't very good either. Not sure why there is a re-do here and not some other team that would like to play on a bigger stage. This one is lost on me...

RE: WMU announces tentative nonleague football schedules for 2011, 2012
When will we know specific dates? A local (Standish) kid plays for Bowling Green, and there is a large group from the area that is planning on coming to Kalamazoo for the game. I am curious when the game will be played. Hopefully during a good weather month when the campus is in full glow. I am the "Mr. WMU" of Arenac County, so I want to show off a bit to those who have never seen what Western has to offer.

Any info regarding that game would be appreciated.

The weird thing about Nicholls State is that they're a Louisiana 1-AA.

The Eastern-Southern-Western Illinois/Indiana State/Illinois State/etc. I expect to see more often than not. Heck, WMU has a win over a Tressel coached Youngstown State team back in the late 90's.

I think that it balances out the other three quite well, and nothing is a gimmie.

Illinois will be our most winnable opener in ages. Too bad Ron Zook will see us coming this time.

2012 is a really nice non-conference schedule. None of those games are "oh crap, we're down 35-0 at halftime" games at first glance.

That Minnesota game could be a nice long weekend trip with the new facilities.

Plus we get UConn at home and don't have to face 3 BCS teams all on the road.

Yes, we will be less over-scheduled than usual. Much more manageable.

I will still judge our program on how we do against other MAC teams, especially CMU.

I agree, that's my concern first and foremost.

We got dealt a nice hand for the MAC East again. Miami may be a tough one to pull off, but there's no reason why we can't take care of Akron and BGSU again at home, given how we handled them on the road.
