Really, then I guess I haven't been giving you a hard enough time.
Kidding.
You're aces in my book. And from a Cajun fan to a Warhawk fan, that's saying something.

Tell your brother we said "Happy Valentines Day, Kolton!"...but you have to yell it out loud...like a cheer...kind of like a 15 year old yells at a Jonas Brothers concert.... I hope your day is marvy!!!

Wrong again ee.
"Dooley also announced that Community Trust Bank has committed to a three-year sponsorship as the naming rights partner for the video board as well as becoming the official bank of Louisiana Tech Bulldog football.
"The video board is now a reality because of our partnership with LA Tech Sports Properties created by our contract with Learfield Sports," Dooley said. "This has allowed us to finance this board with new revenue from Community Trust Bank and our other many corporate sponsors." "
Learfield Sports is highly involved with the board.

yeah you guys have fans in the endzones. Unfortunately they are McNeese and Southerns. You guys going to really talk attendance smack when you had one game over 40k that was all Southern fans and you still didn't average as much as Tech. That pretty much means that other than that one game you averaged somewhere around 14 thousand fans. Real impressive there Cajuns. And just remind me when the last time it was you handed us our butts in anything. Women's softball.
Well come to more games and see what I mean---A referee decided our last football game if you remember---BTW--hope you are checking out the latest population growth of the State ------- the Lafayette region is expanding big time as Rust Town just stays the same----Now with more dorm space our student enrollment will keep on surpassing yours by a greater amount---more kids--more money--sorry dude!!!!
[/quote all a growing Lafayette means is more traffic to Baton Rouge on a Saturday;. Thanks for playing. We have a much better opportunity to bring in the Shreveport market than you have even bringing in your own Lafayette market. I know, my niece goes there and guess where they are on a Saturday night. Thats right tailgaiting in Baton Rouge. I tell her how sad that is but her dad raised her an LSU fan. Now like I said I think it is really sad but I would say that at least 70 percent of ULL grads would rather sit in front of a TV and watch LSU play Bama than attend a ULL game. We are not that close to Baton Rouge. There is not a mass exit from the North Louisiana area to Baton Rouge. That will always make our market potential better than yours.
I spent a month in Shreveport last year. I saw 1 Tech bumper sticker; and it was on a car with a full rear window LSU decal. I saw NOTHING else Tech. The next time you guys sell out Joe Aillet will be the first time. As for selling out I Bowl stadium: Don't make me laugh. Dream on.

I worked and lived in the Holiday Inn Express for two years in Ruston. Although I am sure ATLDAWG is a nice guy, he is blinded by those powder blue glasses. LSU owns N. La., Grambling owns a big part of it. La Tech owns... that 3 or 4 block around the campus extending out to I20 where Starbucks is..plus they have to deal with the Arkansas fans. He is misinformed(still a nice guy as are all of Gods creations), but that is the way most Tech grads/fans go about their day.
Happy Valentines Day, VO!!

Just another example of the blind Tech fans reading into something what they want to see or hear rather than actual wording. You said "we are paying Leerfield back" and that is what prompted my response. Check the 8-10-09 CPA audit report done by Heard, McElroy & Vestal of Shreveport on the Louisiana Tech Foundation books. Page 10, explaining Notes Payable, reads "Line of credit payable to Community Trust Bank for construction of the football stadium video board, authorized limit of $2,000,250, interest at prime rate, payble in one payment of all outstanding principal and interest at maturity, matures 9-25-09, bank has committed to refinancing the outstanding balance upon maturity of line of credit, and therefore the debt is classified as long term. Terms of new loan include prime interest rate, payment schedule based on 15 years amortization, baloon payment of all remaining principal and interest due at maturity, mataures Sept 2014." NOWHERE, IN ANY FORM, is Leerfield mentioned in that note. That note was negotiated by Louisiana Tech Foundation and Community Trust Bank. La Tech Foundation borrowed the money, La Tech Foundation will pay it back. The line of credit was arranged for the construction of the board, the line of credit was converted to a note payable on 9-2-09 in amt of $2,050,000.

That sounds like they are purchasing a 'sponsorship'....i.e., advertising on the board....not actually purchasing the board itself.
Now if it's enough to offset the cost each year, then maybe they are 'purchasing' it via their sponsorship.

Purchasing naming rights for a three year term is correct terminology. They did not purchase any portion of the board itself, that was paid for by the Louisiana Tech University Foundation with funds borrowed from the Community Trust Bank.

no one said we sold it out but there were 44k fans there. 2 of which were NIU. I do agree though that playing ULL would have been much more fun. and look dude. we don't sell out JAS because we have played most of our big games in Shreveport. We have had many games with the same attendance as your Southern. Don't you think if we put Grambling in Ruston that there would be people overflowing that stadium. You get real, you put schools that bring huge crowds into your stadium then claim it as "ooooh look how much ULL can draw" when its the opposing team that brings over half of the fans. There were close to 40k for the grambling game in Shreveport. I have more confidence that Grambling could sell out JAS than ULM.

AND again we had just over 29K for the 2008 game against FIU. A conference record, without any help from the visitors.
AND again we own 8 of the top 18 crowds in in conference games in SBC history.
One team (and one with a history of underperforming) with nearly half of the top attended games in conference.
So go sell your tarps to someone else because we aren't buying.

What I can't understand is how Loser Tech can claim 44k at the bowl game, but averaged 18k. Where did the other 26k come from?
