He's a troll that frequents the mlive board and projects himself/herself to be all knowing about WMU athletics but really just exists to put WMU down at every chance and ends up looking like a stooge. Kind of like on this thread.

IMHO - The K-Central grad in recent years with the most potential for college basketball was Greg Jennings.

Anderson is no stretch. He's a legit talent. They loved him before but didn't feel he could qualify. Well now he's qualified, but we have no 2011 scholy to give.

Couldn't he come here as a walkon and use the Kalamazoo Promise?

For some reason, I thought that anyone under any scholarship counts against the limit for that sport. Or is that just if you have a guy on a track scholarship that also plays football counting for both?

I used to follow this kid when he was with Kalamazoo Central. I'm not that impressed with his game. no doubt about it he can jump out of the gym, but he is below average defender and a decent shooter.

Ok, so I am confused...... The clip of Anderson shows him playing for MOTT which apparently is in Flint. What does that have to do with K-central? And don't you have to go to school K-12 in kalamazoo to get the full Kalamazoo promise scholarship?

A D1 football scholly guy can join the track or basketball team but not the reverse.

Quote:Can student-athletes receive other, non-athletic financial aid?
Yes. Thousands of student-athletes benefit from academic scholarships and need-based aid,
such as federal Pell Grants. In addition, there is money available from the NCAA’s own
Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund. Sometimes student-athletes cannot accept certain types of
aid because of NCAA amateurism or financial aid requirements. Student-athletes and parents
with questions on additional financial aid should check with their athletic department or college
financial aid office.

BCC's center is heading for Ohio State. Not to shabby.

I was told by a pretty good source that one of the things that turned TJ Buchanan off to us was us trying to get him to attend on the Promise. He said the kids are aware it's not the same in terms of perks as a full ride.

My source, and it is a rag, told me the KP came up after TJ realized he wasnt going to a BCS program and after Hawk decided to hold out for Richie. All this after he was offered but drug his feet hoping for a Beilin to a BCS program and would not commit.

A dollar in hand or bird short. Or is it you lost a dollar in a bush and were pecked by a bird.

Either way another KC prospect bit a hand that was ready to feed them.

He graduated from K-Central. Mott is a Junior College.

My bad DB, I couldn't remember what Olivers connection to WMU was.

My point was, he is twice the player Anderson is. And for whatever reason, NONE of these guys stick around and play here at WMU.

By the way have you even seen any of these guys play? Then again, you don't actually comment on anything regarding what they do on the court its all just ripping on other posters.

Seeing these guys play and supporting your foregone conclusion with flat out bs (See: Oliver's parents are profs from your earlier post) are entirely different things, lest you confuse the two.

You had no idea what you were speaking about, and your point about KCentral players going elsewhere other than WMU and lighting the world on fire really doesn't work because they haven't. I'm thinking the point is, you have none.

I think there is something to the (much earlier) earlier post regarding Hawk's reluctance to recruit local players, due to the threat that they bring a lot of local baggage...which could be a huge negative.

I think good players are good players, we make WAY too much out of where they originate like there's a magic potion and instant karma involved with taking a local, or not.

Just think if Mac hadn't have taken Ben Read and Levi Rost.
