I don't know....but....ECU knocked off UCF tonight (74-62).....in Orlando....they were undefeated at home up until tonight. ECU was up by 17 at one point.

told you all ECU has made a commitment to hoops........07-coffee3

How exactly has beating UCF proven that ECU has made a "commitment to hoops"?

Fruits of the labor are starting to show......
-step 1....hiring Lebo - done
-step 2....building the practice facility - fund-raising in progress...

Forget the Big East, UCF should try playing .500 ball in CUSA.

Beating all of the Florida teams doesnt mean anything when all of them range from stinky to average. Yes, that includes USF.

But hopefully you guys have learned not to count your chickens before they hatch. Playing a BE schedule is a whole nother animal from Cusa.

UCF Basketball (under DJ) = USF Football (under Levitt), both blow their load early

Actually, the guy seems to be a solid coach. I have not seen a UCf game, but it looks like the team is not executing correctly. They seem to be in a funk as they have lost to several teams that I never expected them to lose to. I thought Memphis would be UCF's only test in Cusa.

Florida will be in the NCAA tourney.

I remember and most of us laughed at that foolishness. Now we can stop hearing that "why wouldn't the big east want a top 25 and top 25 football team" garbage. The elite teams in this league didn't wake up and start winning games over night. None of those teams celebrate "top 25" appearances that's a small part of the expectations.

Another note is that losing to teams ranked in the 100s in the RPI is brutal. Especially when you lose those games at home. It can be the difference in being a bubble team or nit team. You won't have many chances for quality wins for the tournament resume in cusa. If UCF has any prayer of making the tourney they better start beating these awful teams. I just looked at the cusa teams rpis and there is almost zero quality wins left except Memphis. Ouch........good luck.

I don't think your give ECU credit for stepping up and playing better ball. We took Memphis to the wire as well as UAB. ECU is getting out of the C-USA basement. We aren't where we want to be yet, but we are now moving in the right direction. We've played many teams close this year that would normally blow us out of the water, that's improvement. I wouldn't say that ECU is a awful team this year. Just say'n.........

From where we have been to where we are right this minute in basketball I can say we have improved. Not always has that equaled wins but Coach Lebo is doing something no one else has been able to do and that's play Defense and Together.

Our records is what 10-8 which isn't very good, but for us, it's better than what we've seen in the past. We have very close losses on the road to Coastal Carolina 59-58, George Washington 82-80, Memphis 61-58. They were losses but in previous years we'd have been blown out.

They may get their and you guys may not.

Where you guys and BE fans differ is that a team like Florida that sneaks into the tourney as a 7 seed or higher is not a good team. Florida would be lower tier in the BE. In fact the whole SEC is not much better than Cusa. Realtime RPI rankings have the SEC at .5515 and Cusa at 5325. The SEC is ranked as the seventh best basketball conference and Cusa is ranked as the eigth best conference. So getting a mediocre SEC win is not much better than getting a CUSA win.

We beat all the Florida teams....We are at least best in the state. :)

We even beat Miami...cough who beat WVU
. We are falling apart though.

WVU had jumped up to #21 in the AP...and was coming off a big home win vs #8 Purdue...but Marshall took WVU down last night in the battle of WV....so major props to Marshall!!!!

Another CUSA in-state win over a Big East foe.04-rock05-stirthepot

Congrats on that amazing analysis...but if you had watched a few UCF games...you would realize its more of the system DJ is trying to run against certain teams vs not "executing it".

Huh?

Half of CUSA (6 teams prior to last nights games) were ranked in the Top #71 in RPI...highest its ever been in their new 12 team format that started back in 2005.

Also, prior to last night's game...CUSA was #8 Conf in RPI...again, highest its ever been in the new conf make-up.

PS. Props to ECU last night...as they came out on fire (made their first 6 three pt attempts early in the game) and never let UCF back in the game.

Good feature article and video segment by ESPN on the possibilities of UCF joining the Big East:

Since this silly thread exists - I'll throw this in here:

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF track & field team is ranked 15th in the nation by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) in its first national poll of the indoor season. The No. 15 ranking marks the first time in program history that the Knights have cracked the indoor Top 25.
