RE: 20 win season i feel it!!!
I was thinking about playing time, and I think I would divide my minutes up as best as I could to 9 players right now. The frontcourt Stainbrook, Dean, Whitfield, and Conteh. Backcourt and wings, Douglas, Brown, Ward, Howard and Hutch.
Sorry, I know Wolf has contributed, but the way Douglas has been playing WMU needs him out there handling the ball, especially when opponents are pressuring the ball. Ward doesn't handle it the best either. Here is kind of what I see. Around 32 minutes for Mikey at PG, 8 for Ward at PG, and about 15 at the SG, spot. Having a 2 that can handle it isn't all that bad. Brown would be my starter at the 2 getting around 24-25 minutes a game. Hutch would be my starter at the 3 and probably get around a 26 min mix with Howard backing him up at the 3 and getting around 12-14 minutes there, he is a freshman after all. Stainbrook would probably get about 28 minutes so he doesn't wear down, and Flenard would be around 32. Getting Flenard's primary backup minutes would be Dean, and he would probably get 3 or 4 backup minutes of Stainbrooks time, with the rest going to Conteh, who gets a max 8-10 minutes a game.
All of this is a little flexible of course considering matchups and what you need on the floor, but these 9 guys would be it in my opinion. You could move Hutch to the 4 and go small with Ward, Douglas, Brown, Hutch and Flen, or go big with Ward, Howard, Hutch, Flen and Stain, but I think something that Hawk has never done well, and kind of needs, is an idea on a set rotation, so guys can get accustomed to a role and hopefully flourish in that.
