RE: CMU Predictions
NIU wins by greater than 10 and beats Vegas odds for the 6th time in a row.
NIU 31 CMU 14
attendance depends on marketing and weather. If HMM vehicle and cheerleaders and band are utilized 19000

You are a super-star built army tough.
Most students just want a few hours of fun and are not hardcore.
We need aggressive marketing to keep the attendance from tanking.

RE: CMU Predictions
I with the poster who wants to beat these guys by 50, as payback from the past few seasons.

NIU 100 - we dress students from the stands to play out the 4th qtr
CMU 3 - a record setting 68 FG as time runs out :)

I'm also thinking Dan LeFevour is happy to be out of Chicago, given the QB health hazard that is the Bears O-line.

I believe Coach Joe is 1-0 vs The great Urban Meyer, and 3-0 vs Brian Kelly

You'd think they could make it fun in the rain.. it's not like it's going to be horribly cold.

I'm not going to worry about attendance. At all. I'm gonna be there and be as loud as I can. Nothing I can do about it.

Exactly, plus if the weather sucks (or there is an 11AM start) you get the hardcore people who are the loudest anyway.

Only game I care about attendance is Toledo since it'll be on espn2.

Chips are dangerous bad. I thought we'd struggle with Buffalo last week though, so what do I know?

Ahhh ...we did struggle with UB for first half leading 21-14 from two bonehead plays...we struggled with ourselves missing many scoring opportunities....how many times did UB offer gift horses and we said no thanks...our struggles were of our own making......

We struggled for a half, but I thought Buffalo would cover. I gave their defense too much credit.

It was more a lack of UB offense which resulted in a blowout.

Cannot expect even a good D to be back on the field after so many three and outs and expect the margin to remain closer.

RE: CMU Predictions
I wish athletics marketing would have contests between frats and dorms for most attendence or percentage attendance. For this to occur they will need to monitor by computer every student who attends the game.
A student swipe in system at the FB stadium would be useful.
Also potential students who attend games should be recorded.
Points should be allocated towards potential NIU students whom attend games.
Each game they attend.
A High School student whom attends 3 NIU games should be given even more points.
If you want dedicated Student fans and alums then High School is the place to begin the process.

Best place to begin the process of building a fan base is winning consistently, wining championships and winning bowls and big games vs teams like Wisky or Illinois.

Build a genuine and long lasting WINNER and they will come.

Agreed. You can't force or trick people into coming to games. It might fill the stands for one game but it's not going to increase the fan base. The frats are forced to go to basketball games from time to time. You think they give a crap who wins? Heck no. And they leave the minute their halftime even is over.

Just win.

fine but why ...and why do I feel playing a wounded CMU this Saturday is like walking barefoot thru the desert and not expecting to see or step on any rattlesnakes....

I think this could be a close game but our Huskies will prevail.

NIU 31
Chips 24
Attendance around 15k but higher if the weather doesn't suck. We'll be making our usual 260 mile round trip to be there.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!! 02-13-banana
