Isn't the $1,500 they spent also an indication of their commitment to the program?

I'd like it if everyone went to the game but it's not going to happen. Hopefully less people will stay outside as the team continues to win, but there will always be people who would rather eat, drink, and socialize with friends outside the stadium. I can't blame them...sometimes it's more fun than going in and watching the game and I say that as someone who loves attending the games.

They should stay home in their driveway, invite their friends over, and play with their balls and sacks there. If you support the program and drive to the game, you should attend the game. It's a football game inside of a stadium, not a drive-in movie. These morons should set up their tailgates in a Wal-Mart parking lot. That would suit their kind much better.

Maybe they should stay home...they'd probably be happy to take their $1,500 donation back. Also, I don't think Wal-Mart would be very happy if a bunch of people pulled up in the parking lot and started grilling and drinking. If half of their group went to the game but the other half didn't do you want them all to stay home?

They can afford $1,500 plus the cost of season tickets but they can't afford to treat their guests and support the team they supposedly root for? No, going to the game is never their intention. Their prime goal is to party and get drunk for 8 hours. Sorry, but they can do that anywhere. If you drive your vehicle (or home) to the game, you should go to the game.

I brought some guests to the game with me and they were in total disbelief of the partying morons.

Regardless of whether its right or wrong to not go into the game I have to wonder what KIND of people would do that. How could it be more fun to stay outside the stadium than to go into the game? To each their own blah blah blah. They suck.

Its NOT about rich and poor. About lame-os(who have money...and yes, thats a technical term).

Apparently your guests don't frequent many college football games. It happens everywhere and is part of the nature of college football.

1) You have all the free food/drinks you want
2) You don't have to walk up and down a bunch of ramps, or wait, to go to the bathroom, get a drink, etc.
3) You can socialize and enjoy one another's company
4) You can still listen to/watch the game on TV/radio
5) You can play any number of entertaining tailgating games

Those are the most basic of reasons.

Huh? 03-confused

It has nothing to do with "big bucks and lifestyles". Most of us in the Victory lot do go to the game - tailgaters included. It's the morons who drive to the game and then don't go to the game.

I do enjoy the target practice they provide for me as I exit the lot. Drives my wife nuts when I almost hit them (especially when they won't move).

RE: Huskie Stadium Tailgating
I'm fine with the big donors doing whatever they want.. because let's be honest, we need them, it's not like people are lined up to donate big money right now.

I see no reason to let people hang out in the convo though or any other non-big donor lot. After half time, sure, let the people who went to the game come back and tailgate again during the second half + 1 hour, especially if it's a blow out or we're playing a bad team like Buffalo. If they are just there to drink and not support the team, there's no reason they can't walk over to Fatty's or Molly's.

I understand not everyone cares to watch Jordan Lynch play quarterback (although you missed quite a run if you left). While just about everybody on this board stays for nearly the whole game, I can't expect the casual fan to care that much about the game when we're up 20+ vs. Buffalo. I'm fine with those people going back at half time or after the third quarter to tailgate for a while. At least they got in the building.

How can you get parking at the Alumni & Visitor Center? That area was always my favorite place to tailgate - I see people parked there but don't see it listed anywhere for tailgating.

thanks!

The morons could do this in Nordstrom's parking lot. They'll look stupid doing it there just as they look stupid doing it less than 100 feet from Huskie Stadium.

Seating on the curved walk is usually reserved for folks who pony up around $1,000 or so, which will allow you and several friends to sit there. Trust me, it's not worth it to see the game from the endzone when virtually every seat in Huskie Stadium will afford a better view.

Thanks for the reply. A little steep for one game in my opinion.

No, you can't do that at Nordstrom's, Wal-Mart, or whatever other store you are going to use next.

I really don't know why it's so frustrating to you. It happens at every college football game across the country. Be happy that they made a donation...a lot of people simply pay for parking and then tailgate throughout the game.

I don't think regular fans and donors can park there. It may be reserved for media types or special high rollers.

6) Go to the game and watch it LIVE IN PERSON.

All these things can also be done WITHOUT LEAVING YOUR HOME! Plus you save $ on parking! Well, except #6

If anyone is going to do 1-5 and NOT #6 do the people who attend the games a favor....STAY HOME.

Not sure about some, but I do #3 with people I go to the game with, and can also do #4 when I bring a radio into the game. And they do have a big tv that does provide replays.

Thank you! This gives me the permission I needed to walk around the Victory lot with my pants down and fart next to every grill.

There's your solution...take a lap around the lot with your pants down and every one will head towards the stadium

Problem solved! A good solution and my wife will be happy I don't do it in the car. 04-cheers

I too couldn't understand the people parked next to us at the convo. Now I get the drinking and joy of the tail gating experience. Hell, the only reason I even found out about what they did was because I ran to the car at half time to keep my buzz going. Anyway, four old guys pull up around noon each wearing a sweatshirt from a different big ten school. They play no tail gate games, no grilling, no music or college games on the radio. Just sat their and drank. They never went to the game or seemed to even know what a football was or where they were. I was a little put off that they didn't bother going to the game, but looking back who cares. At least the school got $10 out of them for something they could have done in their backyard.

i think post tailgating is great. Relax after a win and enjoy some food and drink
