Big Line Move - Temple vs NIU
Line opened at NIU -1.5, has already jumped to NIU by 4. Early bettors are drinking the Huskie Kool Aid.

RE: Big Line Move - Temple vs NIU
might the shift have anything to do with injured TU star rb Pierce not yet being able to go?

If the teams are dead even the home team should be favored by 3

What about Jaz Hopkins, saw him being attended to near the end of the game. Looked like his ankle.

Highly doubt it since Pierce was out last week and the line makers knew that already when they set the line Sunday night. Plus, Pierce's back-up was MAC East POW.

And the reason may just be some guy bet $25 at the Sands Sports Book on the Huskies. Would not think there is much action on this game thru Tue.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought last week Pierce was a game-time decision, so one would think he'd be ready by this week. Unless he had a setback, or they decided one more week wouldn't kill them since his backup did well.

007, with injury reports being so vague to begin with, I don't know how much you can take from it. Temple could just say that so the other team would prepare for Pierce to play. It only benefits Temple if their opponent doesn't know who is healthy.

Agree with the 1st 3 lines, but the 4th line is inaccurate...our best defensive player, Wilson, is doubtful.

Against Temple that injury will not be as significant, since they have a poor passing game.

I disagree, I think Wilson is very effective against the run as well. Yes, if the LB's play well enough maybe it doesn't matter, but a good safety saves a lot of TD's on the ground.

He does play well against the run but losing Wilson is not as big of a loss vs Temple as a key linemen or linebacker

Doubtful... if they get to the second level you're going to wish Wilson was there. The entire defense has to do more w/o Wilson in there. The guy is all over the field.

Well of course, the only point was Wilson's loss is a little less tough on the Huskies against this opponent compared to other opponents.

Right, but with the exception of Butler (and possibly not even him with Schiller on his way back), I don't think anyone is as hard to replace as Wilson.

We'll see on Saturday, hopefully it doesn't hurt us.

RE: Big Line Move - Temple vs NIU
Didn't look at the two deep, but was wondering if Patrick George is going to start. On one play at Akron, they threw a quick out and George bounced off the receiver and he ended up with about a 4yd gain instead of a 3 yd loss. George was yanked right away. Before the play was over the coach was looking for Melvin. Melvin then made a couple of nice open field plays. I think we have decent depth in the d backfield.

Not sure how differently we'd prepare if Pierce was going to play vs. not playing.
