RE: Official NIU @ Minnesota Game Thread
We are so lucky to be playing the hardest teams at home.
This is the best chance we have at winning the MAC since Garrett Wolfe!

We are all excited, as we should be. A lot of football before talking bowl games. Just keep winning, one game at a time. This team should pick up momentum and confidence after this win. Defense looked good, could be better. Look at how Temple played Penn, Temple is good, damn good. We need to focus one week out at a time, and only that.

The EPA Snoopy rule that we lose close games against the BCS teams under KIll is still 1/4.
At home we have a good chance of winning close games against MAC teams.
We have 4 home games against 3 good teams. Buffalo should be a win! Temple, CMU and Toledo should be major challenges.

Great win, but next week is even bigger. Beat Akron and that sets up a great game against Temple in DeKalb.

Akron is 0-4 with a loss to a div 1aa team. While No MAC away game is a gimme, we need to win it without key injuries. Temple are 3-1 with a tough loss against ranked PSU at Happy Valley. Temple should win the MAC East.
Buffalo will be the easiest home game.
CMU and Toledo may be critical if we are going to Detroit.

We will need to beat Either Toledo, CMU or Temple(once) to goto 8 wins.
Jerry Kill was 6 wins in first season, 7 wins in second season and hopefully will show improvement in season 3.

I thought the officials did the best job of any Big Ten game in my memory. They were not the typical homer calls that we have endured for years.

+1.... Thought we caught a call on that holding,,,,

Bottom line, WE ROLLED MINN, When you go off tackle repeatedly for 25,30 yards that is an a$$ kick. Spann for over 200 yards and sharing carries, WTF that is special.

The OLINE has played EXTREMELY well the last -2- weeks. Our Wrs & Rbs are blocking well too.

+1

Plus, several of the Spann runs went off the right side behind the object of my abuse over the last several months. Good job, Keith Otis. You're getting the job done.

The officiating was ok. However the Bubba 10 announcers left much to be desired. Their lack of enthusiasm for ANY positive move by the Huskies was glaringly obvious. Tough to watch........Guess I should have gone to the game. In the Bubba 10's defense, the announcers for the Illinois game were great I thought.

Wayne Larivee did the Illini game and he's a consumate professional. He's always given props when the lesser team does well. The guys doing the game last night were just as bad as the guys that did the Purdue game last year.

Thankfully, a much greater mind created the mute button on the remote for just this kind of situation.

Im surprised so many people are being tough on the announcers last night, I didnt think they were as bad as some. On the Big 10 Network the thing that I cannot stand to listen to is when they flip it back to the studio and that clown Jerry Dinardo opens his trap. He is horrible and a huge Big 10 homer who never can give credit where credit is due.

Was that Craig Kashon doing the play by play last night? I want to say he also did the NIU/Purdue game. I always got a sense he appreciated the Huskies. He was the announcer for ESPN plus when NIU played the Badgers in bball at Chick Evans, and I thought has always been fair. Living in Madison for awhile, he would do analysis for Badger basketball for local television. Im not 100 percent sure that is who it was last night though.

I loved how every time our kicker came on the field, they mentioned he was a u of I transfer. Except for the time they mentioned his uncle was a kicker at ohio state. I counted six times in the first half.

I'm ok with some of those comment and always tailing it back to the Big 10, because it is there network....but when the challenge replays were happening...trying to make it seem like some should be overturned, when it was just nowhere close.
