Well, I was hoping he'd be back for the UL-L game.

Sparks is saying that Massaro feels he can get it cut to three in appeal which is in the works.

RE: NCAA - Dasher gets 4 game suspension
fwiw, Adam Sparks of the DNJ on the radio this afternoon, said that Dasher has been much quieter in practice since this broke, there's a group of players that kneel and have a prayer after each practice and Dasher has joined in and Sparks said that never happened before. Also he's not missed a class and apparently his classwork has improved...

I hope so. UL-L is a pretty good team and will be tough to beat at their place. It's a pretty important SB game. Dasher would give MT a great chance to win that game.

Hopefully the appeal will get him back for UL. Massaro is confident that he can get that done.

Now the old man is saying he lied. This whole situation is just confusing. I hope we win the appeal and can get him back for the Lafayette game, the sooner the better.

How is the missing check of a fellow teammate being explained?

It's not really. No reason to explain it since no charges have been filed. Colin Boss and Dasher seem to have settled anything dealing with that.
Quote:Boss did not file charges, and he said no one at MTSU influenced that decision.
“It was my decision, me and my family,” Boss said. “At first, it was more like a shock. If you look at me and Dwight, it might not seem like we have the relationship that we have. But we were roommates (my) freshman year and this summer. We’re closer than it appears. At first, I was mad, but I got over that. After that, it was more so of how I needed to handle the situation.”

So, in Tennessee, Boss has to file charges? In Florida, the state decides whether it has enough evidence and takes over. The "victim" does not really have a say in the matter.
It seems clear that Boss still believes his check was stolen and an attenpt was made to steal from him, but he is apparently willing to forgive.
Shouldn't the coach institute some sort of punishment, at least? Not everything has to rise to the level of police before pnishment is delivered, right?

Who says Stock hasn't punished Dasher. I heard that he has, FWIW. In addition, Dwight was suspended by MT (not the NCAA) for the first two games.
No check was ever cashed.

It's not the result, but rather the actions that led up to the result that should come into question. He still stole a personal belonging from a teammate. The result is that he was forgiven, but he still committed the crime, whether charges were pressed or not. If stock punished him, that's great. But it's not like it never happened. The right or wrong actions of an individual shouldn't be nullified just because that person gets lucky from a happy ending. What if Boss hand't forgiven him and pressed charges? Has anyone ever been kicked off the team for stealing from a teammate?

Are you going to tell me that Dasher hasn't been punished?
If Boss had pressed charges, it likely wouldn't have resulted in anything. The check was voided and it was never used to make a withdrawal. The old guy accepted a worthless piece of paper. Dasher stole a worthless piece of paper.
Everything looks to have been handled and handled appropriately. All that is left is the appeal.
No sweeping, no nothing. Everyone knows all the facts, and then some. Find me something that has been hidden. MT reported the issue immediately to the NCAA and university.

Naw, I didn't say he hadn't been punished. It just seems like MT fans want that to go away like it never happened. In my mind, stealing is stealing, whether it was void or a worthless piece of paper. That doesn't make it right - it's still an invasion of privacy and it's still stealing. A lot of MT fans are justifying Dasher's behavior and deflecting most of the blame onto Donnell. Dasher is responsible for his own actions and if this had been Jerrel Jernigan, Troy fans would never hear the end of it. Now that the shoes on the other foot, a large number of MTSU fans are doing exactly what they have criticized troy fans for doing. It just shows that were all human. I'm not trying to a dich, I'm am however trying to point out that when you attack troy fans for the defense of our players, you should remember that you're susceptible to the same attitudes as the rest of us human beings. You're not above the rest in morality as many of you would have us think (maybe you don't think that way, but many of your posters do).
