Ill give you the advice that the minister gave my wife and I...25 years ago.

"If there is any reason you can think of.. NOT to get married...I urge you to NOT to do it."

I thought at the time this was a bizarre thing to say to a prospective bride and groom...but...He was right. You really do need to be totally committed to the journey.

I wish you and your lady the best....Fo' Shizzle!04-cheers

Congrats Nomad. Once you've been living together for a while and settle into a routine you'll see how good things can be with the right person. Good luck.

Since this is the spin room I should point out that pesky marriage tax thingy kinda blows.

Congrats, from a man that been married since 1972 to the same woman. 4 children, 8 grandchildren.

My advise.

Never have the last word. If you must have the last word, she is going to remember, and make sure you do not get the last word. She has a better memory than you, it's genetic.

Never get physical with her no matter which of your buttons she pushes, she knows where you sleep.

Finally, The only reason to get married is to have children, that's means your committed to the long haul. Never forget that there is pain involved in having children, on both parts, but more so on her part, she's not going to let you forget that, ever, well maybe after you have Grandkids. 04-cheers

Then there's always this:

John Wayne Bobbitt (born March 23, 1967 in Buffalo, New York) and Lorena Leonor (née Gallo) (born 1970 in Bucay, Ecuador) were an American couple, married on June 18, 1989, whose difficult relationship gained worldwide notice for an incident in 1993 when Lorena severed John's ***** with a knife. The ***** was subsequently surgically re-attached.

One of my nephews recently got married in uniform. He sure looked damn fine.

She is going to go out of her way to look extra fantastic on your wedding day, you can too. And mommas not the boss any more, you have a new one. Let her decide. 04-cheers
