NO, it is definitly not safe to say that Duke is a good football team.
Duke is 5-3. Their 5 wins came against:
Army 3-5
NCState 3-5
North Carolina Coastal Division 2 ?
Maryland 2-6
Virginia 3-5
Not one of those teams have won more than 3 games and we are going into the 9th week of fb season. Every team that Duke has played with a pulse Duke has lost to. Thats not even mentionung fcs Richmond whom Duke actually lost to. Maybe you also think that Syracuse is a good football team as well, afterall, SU could also win 5 games playing the schedule that Duke has played so far.
Duke would probably beat Syracuse this season. Paulus is garbage.
Paulus is not a good qb. But to say that Duke would beat SU, when they have not beaten one team with a winning record is dumb. SU is improving but we have serious depth issues as well as 20 freshmen on our team who are in the rotation. Tell me which of the following teams do you think Duke could beat to get to 5 wins this season:
Minnesota
NorthWestern
Akron
Penn State
Maine
USF
WV
Cincy
All of those teams with the exception of Akron and Maine are already bowl eligible or will be before the season ends. Those are the teams that SU has played. There are barely 3 wins there for Duke. Duke has already managed to lose to an fcs team. One thing for sure is that Duke is not a "good team" as you claim. And that has been proven to you.
Duke would probably go 4-4, which is still better than what Syracuse did. But that's why they play the games. After all, Big East power Pitt would have no problem beating ACC bottomfeeder NC State too right?
Name the 4 wins, please. And dont inlude Main, because we already know that Duke is bad enough to lose to an fcs team. I would say that would be one of their losses.

Fine...we can all celebrate another 8-4 season courtesy of Stew as he slides WVU back to mediocrity.

We know you're an ACC homer but even you have to realize how silly you're looking defending Duke.

I've warned you guys that MichaelSavage is an ACC fan masquerading as a Big East fan. From him going out of his way to defend Miami-FL and North Carolilna, to protesting East Carolina joining the league, to him "lecturing" Big East fans on how ACC academics are "superior" to defending Duke as a superior team to Syracuse, the proof's in the pudding.

On what basis is Syracuse football superior to Duke football at this point? Duke has a better coach, a better QB and more wins. I know delusional homers like CatsClaw will point to ancient history, but try living in the present. This is not the same old Duke.

Blah, blah, blah.
Obviously you don't read these boards because I have praised Duke. I was one of the only people who said that Cutcliffe would turn Duke around because Ole Miss was stupid for firing him. Ole Miss went into the gutter until they got Nutt, that was house stupid that firing was. But you're still wrong about Duke being better then Syracuse. Sorry. I guess you'll respond to this with another "Cincinnati sucks, Kelly is leaving haha!" post.

How do you know that Duke has a better coach?
Doug Marrone has done ok so far, for a new coach who has had 22 players leave the team, with 20 freshmen in the rotation, and no depth whatsoever. How are you at this point so sure that Duke has a better coach? Btw, the fact that you are arguing whether Duke is better than Syracuse shows that you were way off base in stating that "Duke Is A Good Team."
Do you still feel that Duke is a good team even though they have not beaten anyone with more than 3 wins?

Cutcliffe has a better resume than Marrone and is much more proven. Are you really going to dispute that?

Try to keep up homer. I don't think UC sucks; I think they're a legit Top 5 team. But I'm also realistic enough to know that you can't keep Kelly long term.

The fact that Marrone hasnt even finished his first year, I wont go and say that Cutliff is a better coach. He may very well be, but we dont know that yet.

It really speaks to the state of the program that your team is even being compared to Duke. I guess that's what happens when you consistently bring up the rear in this league. Keep on thinking Marrone is your savior though.

Northwestern
Minnesota
Akron
Maine
Hahaha. LOL, you really think that Duke could beat NorthWestern and Minnesota? Duke has not beaten anyone who will be bowl eligible. Both of these teams will end up bowl eligible. I wont even mention that beating Akron and Maine is no sure thing, especially after Duke has already lost to Richmond.
SO you still think that Duke is a good team/
Do you really?
It really speaks to the state of the program that your team is even being compared to Duke. I guess that's what happens when you consistently bring up the rear in this league. Keep on thinking Marrone is your savior though.
Please, just answer my question. Do you really still think that Duke is a good team even though they have not beaten anyone with more than 3 wins? Three of their wins only had 2 wins, and they lost to an fcs team?

As far as I'm concerned he is stating his opinion, just as you do. He has not taken personal shots (although he has received a few). If you don't like his opinion, ignore him. He has not been anywhere close to going over the line.

Try to keep up HOMER, is a personal shot in my book. Michael Savage said that to Catsclaw.
I agree with you about not taking personal shots, thats why I haven't. But lets not act as though Michael Savage is some totally innoscent victim over here. he has thrown out his share of personal attacks over here.
BTW; here is another little doosy from Michael Savage, posted just today in another thread at 2:17 pm.
"So says the brain damaged guy. Why not post another hack article from your senile old fart father."

RE: UConn-Cincy: ABC
Is it a shot if it is true?
A statement calling someone a homer is not in the same league as saying someone isn't a fan of their team. I know a couple of people here don't think he is a fan of the Big East or of WVU. That being said, he gives cudos when they are due, usually. I know a bunch of WVU fans who think exactly the same thing as MS, therefore I'm not as skeptical as others. I think there is a very large contingent of unhappy WVU fans, and I'm somewhat surprised others aren't as concerned here.
That being said... everyone needs to cool it. This is supposed to be a place where everyone can state their opinion freely.
