ACORN gets dropped from CENSUS, the NYT reports this barely and gets away with not mentioning, at all, the Child Prostitution Scandal at the D.C. and Baltimore offices so far(now NYC...).
They are complicit as far as I'm concerned. This goes well beyond just Partisian/lying Political Agendas

the NYT's and MSM going all out to cover for them shows atleast two key things, and why we need to keep attacking them:
1) They are both, MSM and ACORN, owned by the Democrat Party and are Key players to their power
2) This story, properly reported, hurts their Messiah politically
Really, you can connect ACORN to the Housing Bubble rather easily. They were the "Community Organziers" giving out mortgages through Fannie/Freddie to deadbeats who couldn't pay them back, and lied about their incomes. Likely they were advised by ACORN into doing this is my guess.
Plus the HUD scams around the country where Tony Soprano Types worked with "Community Organizers" to scam money from the Feds and in the process contribute to the Bubble, helping wreck our economy.
When the Sopranos did their episode on this, it got a group in Connecticut I beleive busted after the authorities there put two and two together if I remember correctly:

didn't the book, Freakonomics, explain how inner city Drug businesses are setup for tax evasion/laundering? compared it to how McDonalds franchises are run?

Kick-backs and corruption are just a part of the cost of "doing business" over in that part of the world.
But you can't include a figure for "bribes" in your US government budget proposal. The Coalition Provisional Authority just called it "overhead" on their documentation.
And if you don't pay the "right people" or pay them enough, I promise your equipment and materials will "disappear" or be destroyed.
Its just how things work over there. And its not limited to Iraq-- its Kuwait, Saudi, UAE, etc.

deflection is SOP on both sides. It never ceases to amaze me what the power brokers come up with to get the masses in an uproar. How about the people on our side though with the kick backs. I remember reading about a Colonel who is under the microscope. I'll look up the article
