I guess for me it's knowing that we are exponentially better off than when we were FCS. Better athletes, better coaches, better attendance, better home games, better tailgating, better roadtrips, just better.

It was last season when we set a stadium record that was held since the 1970's. I was up in the parking structure and I saw tailgaters all up the hill. The whole campus was swarming with activity. I've never seen anything like it at WKU football game. And it really sunk in how much cooler this is. And it will only get better.

I am going to get off the beaten path a bit and say getting bigger write ups in the preseason magazines. We were lucky to get a paragraph in D1AA (I'm staying old school by calling it D1A and D1AA. I don't like the nu skool FCS and FBS).

Another good one, in Phil Steele's magazine I think every FBS team gets two pages and the entirety of FCS gets one page in the very back.

Yeah it's nice being able to tell your friends who are SEC fans that you just beat a team like Maryland, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M etc. rather than telling them you just beat Wofford, Coastal Carolina or Samford.

I am going to say the best part is false sense of superiority to FCS schools and how good it feels to think any new member outside of an SEC team will bring us down. The proof is to see if this thread "What I like about the FBS" gets over 200 posts like the "I don't want to let an FCS team in the conference" thread.

Post away!

One disclaimer....MTPIKE cant have 90% of the posts to win.

In a few years you may be able to beat a top 5 all-time program like Michigan and teams like Wake, Vandy, NCState and UNC as well.

Not a competition friend, just celebrating playing relevant football, but if you troll at the rate in this thread as you did in the ridiculous excuse for a thread of bickering you seem to be so proud of, perhaps in a few days it will be just as big. I can only hope.03-yawn

btw...what are you doing posting in a thread about your favorite thing about playing FBS football? You wouldn't know what that's like, would you?

Well Middle Tennessee has beaten Vandy three times this decade actually. I already know who beat Michigan, who beat the others?

I am going to leave you guys alone.....MTPIKE is just too easy to rile up.

Anyway, I think the SB is an up and coming conference improving each year and has a bright future ahead.

RE: What's your favorite thing about playing FBS football?
I hate to tell you, but we are superior. I seriously doubt GSU could beat Maryland, Mizzou, Texas A&M, Minnessota, Vanderbilt, Alabama and the list goes on. You don't have SEC, ACC and BIG 12 teams playing you at your place, you can't go to bowl games and your revenue is pathetic. I know, I know: "Woulda, coulda, shoulda, ifs, butts, candy and nutts" and the blabbering goes on. Could you move up and be on our level? Sure, but right now, you are not. That's just a fact. I don't "hate" you, the fact is, your aren't significant. You are about as significant to us as we are to the SEC.

The passive aggressive way to bow out in defeat. Love it.

One more shot....last one I promise.

My favorite part is beating FBS conferences in the Sagarin ratings. I shouldn't have done that.....this one may hit 200 posts afterall. lol

There is no more one last shot for trolls like you...I promise.

By the way, where do you keep your Sagarin ratings trophy?

One rating system and he thinks he's got something. Let me know when that ranking system gets you in a bowl game or gets you a home game against a power six team.

I think I'll go to the SEC board and brag about our teams that beat some of theirs in the Sagarin ratings. 01-wingedeagle

There are so many holes in the Sagarin ratings. Like 0-12 University of Washington being rated 9 spots higher than 2-10 Washington State. They were both pathetic, but Washington State won the 2OT pillow fight and yet is still somehow 9 spots lower. What a great system.

I just wanted to chime in on this one before I make it a Smack Thread...

FBS, enough said. We are what you WANT to be. Congratulations on scoring so high in Sargrains, i'll be sure to reflect back on that when I am sitting in a stadium watching my team play in a bowl game. 03-nutkick
