Bowling Green State will probably be the easiest win on the schedule. According to rivals, over the last four years, we've out recruited them, and they have a new coaching staff. Troy will be fired up for this game and should win.
Florida will be a loss as All-Universe selection Tim Tebow returns along with the entire defense. Bear Woods will miss this game due to NCAA eligibility rules. He will start the UAB game and all games after.
UAB could very well be a loss. They beat is at our place last time and while they havent been vwery good the last two years, they have been quietly getting better. Couple that with a stellar recruiting class and I think UAB wins. Home I'm wrong, but that's just my take on it.
Florida International played Troy hard in our last year and returns a bunch. Not only that, the Trojans have to travel to their new stadium. If FIU, and they should, gets a good crowd, it'll be tough to take down the golden panthers. Not only that, the golden panthers have just drug in a monster recruiting class full of the right people such as quality linemen and skill players.
The Sunbelt Conference games left over are all winnable and so is Arkansas, but they should be the most improved team in the nation, so I wouldn't hold any air. Last year, when the Razorbacks were at their weakest, they beat a 9-0 Tulsa team, who by all rights was a very very good team.
You seriously think that you will beat ULM...
Well yes, you beat us last year on a huge road game stretch. Plus it was your homecoming. Plus we had 3 big time starters injured (WR Jerrel Jernigan, C Danny Franks, and LB Bear Woods). WR Jerrel Jernigan is a huge assest to the wr core, he's the best we got and probably the best in belt up tehre with FIU's T.Y. "goodbye" Hilton next year (and Troy's Josh Jarboe who was ESPN's #3 rated high school receiver in 2008).
The safety you got was the fault of bad snap from our backup center. Without that, you guys lose. LB Bear Woods has been called part of what could the best LB tandem in the nation. CFN I believe made that statement.
That's A LOT of breaks you guys got. You won fair and square, because great teams can win with their backups. So, good job, there was no excuse last year. Unfortunately, it is a reason and I don't see you getting that lucky again this year, especially in our house where we've lost two sunbelt games in three years. I guess that makes us 19-2 and somewhere around 12-2 at home. Good luck with that. I do have to say you guys did a good job with your BACKUP QB last year. That was flat out awesome for you guys to win that game like that. Kid can play! ULM can ball, that's for sure, I just don't think this is your year to beat Troy.
All in all, this is just smack talk, I have utmost respect for you and all who post here. I take no personal offense to any smack talk here and for those few who have managed to touch a nerve with me from time to time: If I saw you on the streets, I would shake your hand and chit chat with you. What happens here, happens here and should not have an impact on "real life."
Sometimes I ramble, but often I just have a lot to say, haha. Go Trojans! Go Warhawks! Go Sun Belt!
