You mean we treat our friends better than our enemies (well at least we used to)? That's hardly an odd concept. At least its nice to see you finally admitting Russia is our enemy and is working against the interests of not only our nation---but the individual people of our nation. It appears we actually agree on something.
We have no friends FFS

Human nature that’s why.

This post should be read very carefully. It actually says a lot about this poster some seem to be oblivious of or just naive about.
So you disagree with this quote?
"If Putin was working for us, we’d ignore, excuse, and wave away any accusations made against him"
Our CIA has turned a blind eye do some pretty despicable things around the world. I'd say you're just as naive about how the world and our intel agencies work.

lol---Exactly. Youve missed the point as usual. One treats his friends better than his enemies---and when that conduct stops----you have nothing but enemies. Shere and the other Tuckertard followers cant tell the difference between friends and enemies---thats a foreign policy that over time will leave us isolated in a world consisting of nothing but enemies. I think thats the wrong way to go----but if your going to support that kind of foreign policy---at least wait until youv'e recreated an America that is more like the 1940's version of the nation- (ie---completely self-sufficient with respect to all critical industries like food, energy, medicines, steel, high end chips, defense manufacturing, rare elements/raw resources, etc). We arent there yet--and we arent close.
I get the idea of beling a largely isolationist nation----I just dont think we are ready to do that yet----and I find it idiotic to start burning bridges when we arent ready to be completely self sufficient----I think its nuts to purposely create a world where we will are seeing more more enemies while acting in a manner that leaves us with fewer and fewer friends. And that doesnt even consider the domestic financial repurcussions of abdicating our role as the chief enforcement mechanism for the American Rules Based World Order---a world order that is the primary reason the US dollar is the worlds reserve currency.
Hard to say the US (and the world for that matter) hasnt benefitted greatly from the peaceful ordered free trade world the American Rules Based Order has provided. To be fari----I think we can potentially thrive as an isolationist or quasi-isolationist nation--IF we move to that stance in a thoughtful well planned step-by-step manner---and IF the majority of the American people are fully behind the idea. The problem is---we arent moving in a well thought out step-by-step manner and I think the majority of Americans happen to like the current world order we have built over the last 8 decades---as well as our place in that order (and I see no indication a majority of Americans are all that interested in throwing that position away for a poorly planned transition to full or quasi-isolationism).

Our CIA shares a lot in common with North Koreas famous room 39. It is designed to go around the world to find ways to make money that can be sent home to fund the military and keep the general economy from falling apart, as well as to enrich the individuals involved.
Both are involved in the exact same types of activities.

Some interesting comments:
"...For decades, European leaders have warned that a nuclear-armed Iran would pose an existential danger. But European denial of dual-use NATO bases to the American military, the prohibition on even flying Middle East-bound U.S. military or logistical aircraft over several European nations, and the constant rhetorical attacks on the American military effort to stop an Iranian bomb are all starting to fragment the alliance’s support for Ukraine.
Europe sees the future of the West as hinging on stopping Russian aggression. The United States may agree but sees an unhinged nuclear Iran as an even greater danger. Europe is peeved that Trump is ending fuel sanctions against Russia to lower sky-high global diesel prices. America is even angrier that green and vehemently anti-Russian Europe has been the chief buyer of Russian natural gas since the war began. And on and on the acrimony goes...."

RE: Sounds like the Ukraine war is about to be over
Unfortunately, I see #6 as most likely right now. #4 probably least likely.
"...So, given these dismal facts, will this horrific war ever end?
There are lots of scenarios for a conclusion to the madness, but most are either unlikely or terrifying.
1) After nearly five years of frightening human costs, economic ruin, and global ostracism, Russia could agree to an armistice based on the status quo of the current battlefront. It would keep Crimea and its eastern Ukrainian acquisitions. It could thus claim victory before its disenchanted population. Ukraine would also be able to declare victory for stopping the Russian colossus from pushing farther into the country.
Ukraine would not join NATO. But during the peace, it would arm itself to the teeth. Ukraine would fortify its new eastern border to deter further Russian aggression, given that Putin’s ultimate agenda is to absorb all the former Soviet republics either by outright conquest or through puppet governments, and so to claim a status like Peter the Great’s by restoring millions of new “Russians” to the current shrinking Russian Federation. This conclusion would not please either side or its allies. And therefore it might be the only realistic way to stop the slaughter.
2) Ukrainian elections might result in a coalition government willing to negotiate a more generous settlement for Putin. The war would end, but with an even greater Russian threat to Ukraine and the rest of Europe than either faced before the war.
3) The unsustainable human and economic costs of the war could result in a coup removing Putin and installing a more realistic oligarchy that would negotiate a peace and blame the deposed Putin for the catastrophe. Putin’s political longevity so far (now well into a third decade in power, having survived a number of existential political crises) makes this notion unlikely.
4) A hollowed-out Russian military could finally collapse, allowing Ukraine to advance to its pre-February 2022 borders.
5) A strapped Ukraine, with its European allies under economic and social strain and the United States occupied with Iran, simply collapses. Russia then annexes most or all of the country. Or perhaps Putin sympathizers win an election, seek to capitulate, and hand over the rest of the country, along with Crimea and the Donbas, to Russia.
6) The war could simply drag on for years, resembling the bella interrupta of the Middle East...."

For sure. I’m shocked Biden’s “Please don’t do that” approach with Putin didn’t work.

I guess both sides decided the flooded river (Russia blew up a dam a few years back to stop the advancing Ukrainians) was too formidable a barrier.

Im going to create a #7.
#7---Ukrainian continues to ramp up the number of long range drones to the point its nearing 800-1000 a night attacking Russia---and late 2026---a new threat emerges as Ukraine begins to field its own domestically produced powerful long range ballistic missiles Russia has little ability to stop.
Add to this the arrival of 1000 "Rusty Dagger" missiles (ordefed last year), a new Storm Shadow line producing new missiles for Ukraine, and the continued production of Ukrainian jet drones and Neptune cruise missiles---and you have the outline of a brutal Russian winter that is NOT what the Russian population bargained for. Putin see's the popular mood change and the writing on the wall---and agrees to a freeze of the existing lines, some sort of security arrangement that Ukraine can live with that doesnt include actual NATO membership, and gets new elections where Zelensky does not run. That allows Putin to claim victory at home getting new lands for Russia, no NATO, and regime change (despite the fact that after the brutal war Russia waged on Ukraine for the last 5 years----any "popularly" elected president in Ukraine is going to likely be even more anti-Russian than Zelensky). It allows Z to walk away claiming victory (held off the Russians, saved Ukraine as an independent nation---and obtained security guarantees that make it unlikely Russia will ever attack again). The peace in Donbass would look something like a cross between the N/S Korean DMZ and the Cold War partition of East and West Berlin.

Why should I care if Russia takes Ukraine? I've still not gotten a good explanation. Probably a lot more children on both sides would still have fathers if they had.
